"POWERTRAIN ERROR", truck gone for month+, INEOS uncooperative

In the UK and much of the USA, you would be looking at the Lemon Laws, (USA), or not of merchantable quality, (UK), and the path is well travelled. Time to lawyer up I'm afraid, as Canada does not seem to have a fast track equivalent.

As it is a complex assembly of parts from around the world, there are going to be issues with some vehicles, the measure of a company is how long it takes to fix the issues and how painful it is for the end customer.

in general i think another point of discussion is why is it that the ineos technical team is making the recommendation that a part (the diff) should be replaced but that another part of the company is denying this path of action. It is clear that you are not asking them to investigate something trivial. it is clear that they have not done a thorough analysis to investigate the defect in your vehicle. At a minimum they should complete this.

UPDATE: Well I have my truck back, after two months of the dealer and INEOS Technical Assist (North Carolina) trying to diagnose, recreate, fix, or just figure out WTF is going on with my rear diff and/or powertrain to cause these problems.

One of my injectors was apparently slightly of spec and that has been corrected. (Not much of a remote adventuring vehicle if a barely out of spec injector gives a "powertrain error" that disables the truck...)

The inside of the diff shows no signs of scoring, chips, heat discolouration, etc.

In summary:

Dealer: "We know these problems are real but INEOS won't reimburse us to replace any parts or for time to diagnose the problem. Go drive your truck."

INEOS: "Your dealer can't reproduce the problems so ... 🤷‍♂️ ... go drive your truck."

Me: "I've shown you photos, video, and return service visits with these problems. f**k. This sucks. I'm gonna go drive my truck."
