Power steering noise

Hello everyone I was finally able to pick up my grenadier yesterday Unfortunately, I noticed at home that my power steering makes a strange noise. I think it's not a normal noise, or? The filling level in the container was at maximum with the engine warm but switched off. The German instructions do not say exactly in which condition the oil should be checked. Does anyone have an idea? I tried to post a video but I always see the file is too big (7mb)

Mine has been measured at mid 80s.. just need it to become even more obnoxiously loud to see if Corporate will approve the swap. Ridiculous

My 2025 SUV started making the same noise from the videos this week. Between this noise, the HVAC inoperativeness, and the software shitshow, this is not the ownership experience of a $95K automobile. I’m fine with quirks, but the OEM needs to be ready to address them.

Absolutely not during the warranty period, and absolutely not on my dime. This is on Ineos to fix, whether they realize that yet or not.

I wish you the best of luck getting them to fix or replace the PSP. Didn’t happen for me after over a year of back and forth. Couple good threads here to read all about the noise.

I don't expect they'll do it just for me. It'll affect more and more vehicles, worsen over time, and they'll either fix it for all of us or get an increasingly bad reputation as the "BUILT FOR MORE annoying noises" brand and lose their enthusiast market. I've read the threads and they suggest one of these two paths.

Ineos is in a precarious position: It's a niche vehicle marketed as tech-simple and robustly built. But they have enough mechanical problems, and certainly enough tech/software problems, that they may not be living up to their promise sufficiently to grow their market.

In the garage, people ask what that silly noise it (steering pump). In the car, people ask what that crazy service alert is. On cold mornings, people ask what that janky squeaking from the screen is (see my posts). People ask why the AC doesn't work well and why the HVAC whistles. These things are not OK for a vehicle of this price. We tolerate it because we love the design and core build quality and capabilities, but will only continue to tolerate it if Ineos fixes the problems over time, which they are increasingly behind in doing.

Approaching 10K miles. Like tinnitus, have become accustomed to the squeal. Hasn't gotten any louder or quieter since new. Dealer recently "fixed" the HVAC blowing hot when AC on max cold.

If these are the only two issues with my IG, my appreciation for it will continue to grow over time. But I'd really really like for IA to fix the pump squeal. That'd be really cool.

Judging by the somewhat underwhelming improvements to the 2026 models it does give one the impression IA either lacks the funds, engineering depth, or enough resources to address specific areas of the vehicle we are seeing pattern failures and/or requiring engineering changes such as the front axle geometry.

If they don’t have the capabilities/funds to bring fixes based on customer feedback and what they are seeing through their warranty repairs what hope is there of mass recalls for replacement of things like steering pumps, driveshafts, HVAC systems and software revisions? I fear until IA is sold to another manufacturer with the funds and resources to bring enhancements the improvements we are likely to see are going to come in drips and drabs unfortunately. We all want this brand to work so fingers crossed things get better.

Has anyone actually slid underneath a stock MY26 and measured the front driveshaft angle, or is the assumption that because IA haven't talked up a change there's been nothing done there?
I have seen posts about a revised steering box ratio and boost pressure, but nothing specifically about pump operating noise.

That's forward facing stuff not retrospective fixes to the existing fleet which is the 2nd point of your post.

It’s an expensive truck, yes, but it’s cost is related the use of high end parts for abuse off road in small production numbers. I don’t care about that other stuff. I daily mine and take it on my adventures. It’s an unbelievably cool vehicle, handles most if not all off road situations that I could find myself in with aplomb, and I’m happy that I own one and that it even exists in the first place.

The steering whine isn’t an issue anymore for me, it’s faded into the background. My HVAC works, mostly, that’s fine. If I’m too hot I open the windows and if I’m too cold I wear a jacket.

It’s much more interesting than owning a generic dime a dozen boring truck that has working HVAC and doesn’t make truck sounds. Owning a Grenadier and taking issues with the small stuff is akin to owning a 911 Carrera RS and complaining that you need to shift it yourself, it has no power windows, no HVAC, and that it’s loud inside. The alternative is a boring truck/EV that is fast and quiet, sure, but soulless.

I’ll take interesting every time over boring.

I get your point. And I've owned the 911 (993). The 911 example just doesn't hold. If you guy a manual gearbox, you expect to shift manually. Lack of power windows is entirely different than power windows that don't work reliably. I'll never complain about my Grenadier's lack of power seats, because I bought it knowing it doesn't have power seats. Same with the steering.

We can be Grenadier fans without being apologists for IA. These aren't "truck sounds." They are defects. Defects should be fixed.

Grenadier owners deserve rigs that handle most off road situations with aplomb AND do the basics well. Small production numbers, high end parts, and cool looks are not trade-offs for the problems that people report here.

I bought a Grenadier because I wanted interesting over boring.
I paid $95K for it because it wanted it to be capable and high quality in all regards.

The truck is super cool and capable. The truck isn't high quality in every regard. We should talk about BOTH here in these forums.
