Power steering noise

Hello everyone;) I was finally able to pick up my grenadier yesterday🥳 Unfortunately, I noticed at home that my power steering makes a strange noise. I think it's not a normal noise, or? The filling level in the container was at maximum with the engine warm but switched off. The German instructions do not say exactly in which condition the oil should be checked. Does anyone have an idea? I tried to post a video but I always see the file is too big (7mb)
Thank you;)

My 1994 80 series Land Cruiser has a gear driven pump (and a recirculating ball steering box) that is bombproof, and serviceable (it has over 300k trouble free miles on the OEM seals, and I can still order a rebuild kit from any Toyota dealer around the globe - on a 30 year old vehicle).
My '97 Land Cruiser lifted on 37s with a brand new OEM pump and OEM steering box steers like a 911 compared to my new IG. The IG has zero excuse for the slow return to center, wider turning radius and movie car steering corrections when a nearly 30 year old truck can do everything better in the steering dept.

My local Pasadena dealer service rep told me the squeal needs to exceed 90 db to be considered for a warranty replacement, but even then there are no guarantees that the new pump will be silent.

I conjecture that IA knows there is no fix except to go back to the supplier and ask for an entirely new de$ign. This is why they're dragging knuckles at our expense.

I've come to accept it (begrudgingly) because I'm not dropping $3K on a new pump plus labor to end up back at square one. I'll give the min level cold a try because max level cold made zero difference on mine. There's split bro forum science here whether high or low fluid level will actually eliminate squeal. Make up your mind internet. lol

Let's keep this thread going with more owners voicing their displeasure. Rock on!

Crikey, that must be one bad handling Grenadier or a very worn out 911. Every LC or Patrol with 37"s I have driven or been a passenger in pretty much turns into a fair ground ride above 80km/h, then barely stops when the need arises. One would feel safer going down a steep hill in a wheel barrow with a flat tyre.

Just to be sure. Min steering fluid doesn’t completely get rid of the noise. It makes it quieter and most importantly drives a lot better, lock to lock and the steering feel around corners.

Tell me you haven't researched the difference between kingpins and ball joints without telling me you haven't researched the difference between king pins and ball joints.

that's a bit harsh isn't it ? Surely, its fairly baseline to have a vehicle that gets from here to there, and can do it in a manner that is aligned with consumer expectations. Two different vehicles can drive differently, and just given the amount of noise on this forum, and elsewhere, around the effort folks are putting into getting steering better on the IG, its safe to assume there are shortfalls on the IG.

Maybe you haven't driven many different vehicles ? Maybe you should get out a bit more ?

Either way, I look forward to your extended explanation on how King Pins create sub-par experiences while Ball joints are vastly superior, as your comment seems to imply.

Did I say one was better than the other, I must have missed that. No, what I've highlighted is there is a mechanical difference between the implementations.

I'd encourage you to do your own research, I'm sure you are more than capable.
