Hello everyone;) I was finally able to pick up my grenadier yesterday🥳 Unfortunately, I noticed at home that my power steering makes a strange noise. I think it's not a normal noise, or? The filling level in the container was at maximum with the engine warm but switched off. The German instructions do not say exactly in which condition the oil should be checked. Does anyone have an idea? I tried to post a video but I always see the file is too big (7mb)
Thank you;)

Anyone made any progress with rectifying the noise? I've just hit 1000km and it's squealed from day 1. Dealer told me "they all do it and Ineos say it's a characteristic of the car". I pointed out they don't all do it as I've met other owners who don't have the problem. No fix available apparently.
That’s rubbish. I had a loaner for 6 months and the PS Pump was quiet as a mouse.

Then when my vehicle turned up it was squealing badly. After complaining about the unacceptable noise the pump was making the ps pump was replaced and now quiet.

Just my 2c.

Are there any in the US where people say they don’t make noise? My wife can hear me coming around the parking lot.
I will say that our 2024 Jeep Wrangler has a similar sound, but it’s not nearly as loud, which I wonder if it’s based on vehicle weight and pump strength. Of all the possible modifications up pump that didn’t squeal like a pig would be very high on my list if not at the top.

Have seen multiple us 2024 model (don’t know the build date) with VERY reasonable whine - meaning you don’t hear it if you were not paying attention to listen for it.

We have a 2025 guy saying his PS whines. Don’t know if it surpasses the subjective threshold I laid out above

They all do squeal to a certain degree. Some louder than others. Only time it doesn’t squeal is a 0 degree steering angle (in the straight position) when it’s not on any load.
Well, I opened the bonnet and listened intently including with a stethoscope... quiet hum from steering pump with stethoscope but inaudible over normal (diesel) engine chatter without. No difference in noise when under load.
I'm wondering if the squealing pumps are actually cavitating because the the system has never been properly purged of air....
Currently have 14,000 km on the odo.

Mine is loud. Brought it to the dealer’s attention before I scheduled my first service. The tech said mine was actually quieter than most (!) and that the bled the system anyway with no change. Sounded exactly the same.

Possibly. It’s only recently in the sunshine I open the windows to drive and can hear it squealing. Usually windows closed and I can’t hear a thing. All the Grenadier YouTube videos you can hear it and It must be rare the ones that don’t. I can say it’s got quieter over the last 2 and 1/2 years since I’ve had it.

Question is what has Ineos done to answer why some do and some don’t? Should they totally drained out the steering fluid and vacuum refill to eliminate the air.
