Intenté apresurar las cosas sacando fotos (el cielo estaba increíble) y terminé atrapado en la tormenta. También era granizo, pero los granizos no eran muy grandes; simplemente me empapé por completo.

Wowwwwww! Absolutely beautiful! I’m so envious — I grew up in the Midwest where there is water everywhere and lush foliage. I now live in the Phoenix desert — where it’s very stark, dry, brown, hot. Not my fave. Your place reminds me of all the lake homes in the upper Midwest.

Out in the scrub working tonight with only a few roos and dingos for company but there are a mob of these little guys around. Their eyes reflect light so they're easy to find.

Started to do some seat repairs on my '66 Benz this afternoon and found a little nest.
As the car always harbours a huntsman spider or two, I'm presuming they are progeny.
Around 3mm body length.
I bought a new camera for macros. Olympus Tough TG7.

Italian car display day on Parliament House lawns in Hobart.
My rare Fiat Millecento Riviera (spoke to an 80 yo guy who used to race/ rally them in the 50s and 60s). Now has restordd and maintains a very tssty Fiat 130.

THE Fiat Abarth is highly modded and campaigned in Tasmania many times. The owner has written a fantastic book of personal escapes/escapades called
"Shit that was hot!"
From school pranks, rock climbing escapes and car racing etc, dozens of life cheating events.
The Lambo Espada is one of those cars great to borrow, exciting to own/ maintain!

It's a pity Lorella Springs was closed to single vehicle tourers and campers. Pretty sure only a single 4x4 tour bus company has the only access now. It was a great place to go.

I spent two weeks in that area in the mid 90s doing helicopter aeromedical support for a defence combat survival course being conducted at the nearby Nathan River Station. The course was teaching downed aircrew how to live off the land while waiting for rescue. We were living out of the Borraloola Pub (without alcohol!) so we could co-ordinate fixed wing retrieval services via the Borraloola airstrip with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) coming from Mt Isa or Darwin.
It was a good thing we did. One young serviceman was bitten on the hand by a Taipan Snake (a.k.a the Fierce Snake) while crouching on the bank of a natural spring to collect water in his hat. Considered the most venemous snake in the world, it is not typically aggressive so bites are relatively uncommon. He was unlucky and the bite effects were made worse by his poor physical state at the time due to the tough survival course.
By the time we got this guy back to Borraloola the RFDS retrieval team were waiting for us. He was very very unwell but as far as we know he survived the bite.

As a 20-something year-old it was an early lesson for me about preparedness for remote area travel. Everything is fine until it isn't. There's no excuse for not carrying a PLB and a Satphone today. Starlink is good but only while you're near your vehicle and assuming your vehicle is still shiny side up.

I am a monthly subscription donor to RFDS. Aside from the remote community primary health care work they do I see it as another form of insurance for remote area travel.

Wow! Incredible pic. We are taking a two day ferry which travels through here in March next year. Can’t wait now but not promising anything similar in quality !
