Build Thread Pluffmud Grenny

Finished up my phone mount (also ran wire for radar detector ...yes I know the Grenny is not speed demon but can get a ticket going 35 in 25...so I like the peace of mind)....will show that if wanted but not much to it. Blendmount rvm mount for detector of choice...run remote switch and power along headliner, behind A-pillar, down under dash to power source and ground...then mount MUTE button and remote to personal preference.
The more important part was getting my phone mount finished and a wire that works better for distance and location I put everything. The USB wire is 1.6 ft long. Gives little slack but allows to be fairly neat still. Only big difference is a right angle head on one end...so that it does not stick out and hit my leg while driving. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJYHS14X?tag=globalgrena0b-20

For my actual mount, I have 5 parts:
- Agile Offroad Dash Ball Mount https://agileoffroad.com/product/dash-ball-mount-for-ineos-grenadier-by-agile-offroad/
- Quad Lock Phone Case for Magnetic Mount WIreless Charging
- Car MAG Wireless Charging Head https://www.quadlockcase.com/collections/accessories/products/mag-wireless-charging-head
- Truck/Car- Ball Top Cap Adaptors (1" ball adaptor) https://www.quadlockcase.com/collec...BTC1UQ0EiLCJvcHRpb24yIjoiUUxILU1BRy1XQ0gtMiJ9
- Ram Mount Double Socket Arm- B Size MEDIUM https://rammount.com/products/ram-b-201u

Some explanations on how it works for me:
1. The AO Ball Mount is easy...bottom right bolt is longer than others....so remember when reinstalling with new hardware...but just snug it up and fits great. Well built.
2. The magnetic mount wireless allows me to place and remove phone without doing the turn to lock and having lever to unlock like on motorcycle I am accustomed...but still secure enough for bouncy roads.
3. When get MAG Wireless Charging Head it is set to go onto a gimbal or direct mount....so have to convert the MAG head to a ball mount head with adaptor purchased...just unscrew and replace.
4. I have the medium double ball arm...wish I would have used the SHORT length to get top of my phone below bottom edge of display screen of dash...but that can wait if reallly bothers me and dont get used to it.
5. Then once have wire ran between USB outlet up to wireless port on charging head...simple as placing phone against it and it is solid and secure until you remove it by hand just by pulling towards yourself to break the magnetic pull.

Everything works great...feels secure. Will update if anything changes in function or reliability.

is there a phase 1 video from Owl on the top of the windshield? forgive me if i missed it, i cant seem to manage the search function correctly and havent seen it pop up. thanks for your help and looking forward to doing all of mine once i can get the correct part number.
I dont know what you are asking... Are you asking about trim across top edge of windshield? That was there from factory.....so I only had to take the new trim edge protector up to where that and the rain gutters come together in each upper corner. It wont line up perfect so I cut a 45* angle from inside to outside so it slopes towards upper corners jut to make look better.
If not asking that....not sure what you are meaning. Sorry.

That’s exactly what I was asking. The new ones dont have it apparently.

Never noticed. For the record, if you buy what he recommends...you have enough to go around the entire windshield....twice. I have a bunch left over. Checking some pics online at my local dealership...would agree it looks like not there. With how the trim attaches...should be easily be able to continue all the way around.

Agreed, but i found a brand new one in AUS that i just ordered, i like the fit of the oem one on the top so it perfectly fits that bump out...
