Passenger would like to lock the car while waiting inside

I get the feeling I already know the answer to this, but I'd like to see if there is any possibility of an out. My Wife likes to sit in the car with the dog when we're out and about, and I make a quick stop for coffee or something. The issue is that she also likes to lock herself in for security. Is it possible for her to lock herself in when I step out with the keys?

It seems a bit odd on the Grenadier. There isn't a lock on the passenger door (as stated on other threads). Is this then a no go?

Thanks,
Mike

I think I could lock her in if that’s what you mean. What happens when she opens the door? I haven’t tested it, but I’d guess the alarm would be triggered. She may not like that!

Fair enough though. I should test it.

That is what I meant because it seems like that solves the problem. However, opening the door from the inside could complicate things.

She can reach across on driver side and lock the doors. Then if she needs to get out, pull the handle and her door and only her door will unlock.

Or give her the fob (or the spare fob) to lock/unlock as she sees fit.

Hi Jiman01, for sure she’ll have a fob of her own. All the ideas hinge upon how the alarm system works. Hopefully there’s a way for her to lock or unlock the truck without any drama.

I verified that the passenger can use the key fob, lock the doors from the inside and open the door to get out without tripping the alarm. So you can get the same result as if you had locks on the passenger door.

Thanks for everyone’s input.

Mike
