Pan American Highway progress updates

It becomes easier as in most situations people one encounter tend to mirror one’s disposition. Stand off with caution and they’ll often do the same.

But unleashing one’s curiosity and charm can give them license to do the same and all sorts of surprising events happen off the back.

Your philosophy background is really showing through. Happy Solstice!:)

Somewhat of a milestone this week as we find ourselves at the end of Argentina Ruta 3, on the island of Tierra del Fuego and the southernmost point of South America accessible by vehicle.

We are just over 60,000kms into our pan-American journey, and maybe 50,000kms and ~18 months from the northernmost point attained at Tuktoyaktuk in the Canadian Northwest Territories.

Celebrated our arrival in Ushuaia with an oil change and a field repair of the steering damper (gaffer tape was an anti-cowbell measure).

Found some minor thermal damage on the rear corner of the (new) engine cover and decided it was time for us to part ways.

We are now at 88,000kms. Some weeping showing at the front differential but otherwise driveline/propshaft boots etc appear to be fine.

Bit of a list of components damaged or wearing out (windshield, hood, door seal, mats) but rolled in to town with no error lights or outstanding issues.

Plenty more to come but this felt like a major objective checked off!
