Hi all and IA,

I would like to know if there are plans to open up the service/repair/warranty network to independent workshops in Australia. Having to wait 3 weeks for your nearest agent to inspect an oil leak, fix it, then wait another 2 weeks, after the fix they applied doesn't work, for them to fix it a second time is a pain. Would like to see some choice in the market where I can get my Grenadier fixed including warranty work.

I am lucky having a local agent, but their wait times are usually 2-3 weeks minimum. My concern is if I have a problem travelling, that requires a repair/warranty work (or even standard non-warranty repair), that I need to find an Ineos agent to carry out said work, and what sort of wait times will that entail.

What is IA doing in regard to a servicing/repair network in Australia.

Thanks
Greg

If I could just broaden this request - is there a plan to open up the service network and diagnostic tools more broadly for all markets? Like for my friends to the north in Canada - 2 dealers?!!! Anyone have any idea how freaking huge Canada is? It’s just not workable - I’m “lucky” since I only have to drive 180 miles to my dealer.

Like many others, I have been invited to a chat with an IA representative to give my honest feedback on owning my Grenadier for the past 2 year (almost). I will certainly be asking the above question, amongst others.
I have had very few issues with my Grenadier (touch wood), and overall I am very please with it. However IA reputation is being let down by poor customer service post purchase imo. Those times that I have had to have it looked at and repaired it has been an effort in just getting hold of the agent. Then usually multiple trips to the dealer to do the repair, where I have to wait for parts, or they just don't fix it right the first go.
Most recent example was a small oil leak from the inlet hose to the turbo. 5 weeks and two trips to the dealer to have the inlet hose replaced. That was after an initial week in just trying to contact the agent. The vehicle was off the road for the whole 5 weeks as a precaution. I haven't had the best of luck with turbos in other vehicles in the past. This wait is simply not good enough, and I am lucky to have my agent in the same city. I can't imagine how long a repair like this might take if I was doing a trip in a more remote part of the country.
Anyway, I applaud IA for reaching out for a feedback session, although it has been a long time coming.

I agree - this is, in my opinion, the absolute top thing to address. Again, I consider myself VERY lucky - no issues in 24k miles (other than door seals, sticking door handles and the fuel code error), and I only have to drive 180 miles - and my dealer has been responsive and available. But for those who are REALLY distant from their dealer, or who have poor service experience - well, this is the primary reason more people aren’t buying. This is what I do for a living in global med tech - it can be fixed. They HAVE to go back and renegotiate their regional dealer agreements, open up the network and warranty provisions, make the SW available, and have a spare parts supply chain strategy. Have to. This will break them if they don’t. My independent mechanic (BMW specialist) thinks it’s a really serviceable truck - if they would just unlock parts and diagnostics.

In case IA needs a reminder why Canada drives Fords, GM’s and Toyotas - service network.
