Despite 2yrs of my handsfree being unusable there still doesn't seem to be any confirmation from Ineos that this is a known fault, especially when many others have complained about it.

I would like to request recognition that this is an issue and a plan for resolution

Mine is a bit echo like for the other party but otherwise is ok. Not as nice call quality as my BMW but i assume that is because it’s a big space so sound rattles around a bit.

I have an early 2023 and I have no issues with my phones hand free or Apple Car play. I have safari windows.

Like every other Ineos issue, some do some don’t. Definitely needs better quality control.
I thought the phone problem was on all the earlier versions, just everything else was a lottery?

2023 build, no issues, on Android with wireless dongle. But there again I'm retired and in car phone use is minimal so perhaps I shouldn't be in the statistics 🤔

Agreed. Mine sounds fine in the car, I’m told that it sounds fine from the other end too. 2023 model, vin approx 2000.

2023 Trialmaster
Sounds absolutely perfect from my end but am told it’s dreadful from the callers end . Dealership says there’s no fix even having tried third party mic’s.
I use my apple earpods, not ideal !

@Simon C - do you mean it won’t connect, or do you mean the quality is bad? Also, are you using Apple or Android? Cable or wireless? I am using an iPhone (wireless) - Apple CarPlay USUALLY connects and stays connected, with some exceptions, I can hear the other party clearly, but they have a hard time understanding me. Often they complain of “an echo.” What’s amusing is when the person complaining is my Ineos dealer. But yeah, makes it not so useable for work conference calls. Can’t imagine the poor bastards who use this as their daily and have long work commutes.

My back up are my Shokz bone conduction headphones. Very comfortable and reliable.
60% of the time the Grenadier hands free performs perfectly but at times, the person on the other end doesn't feel the same way.

It's audio quality, or lack of for the remote end. The sound is fine at my end but anyone on the other end can barely hear me, akin to being in a washing machine is the most common phrase. Anything over 20mph and they can't really understand me, it's a microphone issue whether that be HW/FW or SW.

I have an MY23 and I know others that have the same issue with later models but other MY23's are OK.

Using Android with cable but also does the same on Bluetooth only - have tried multiple phones and same issue plus my phone is perfect in other vehicles.

Will get the latest SW update soon so can assess if that makes a difference but I've heard that it doesn't from others, next will be a microphone module swap if approved by IA (but also heard that this doesn't fix it either!) - I'm guessing it's an earthing problem but finding that may be a challenge.

Yep pretty much the same for me - Nov ‘23 build

My '23 15xx VIN build had the same receiver sound quality issue until a software update was performed at the 1st service.
I wire my Android in.

Have you seen this post from @tristand?
I don't think it's had the attention it deserves. If his discovery is typical then it may be the root cause for early builds.

Definitely deserves attention but I would prefer from Ineos rather than messing around with that myself.

Agreed. I just threw it back into the ring to temper the idea that a SW update will solve it. The loom issue that Tristan found is not going to be fixed by a SW tweak.

I have also had a good response sharing this obscure stuff back to my agent when the standard go-to fixes aren't working. It's another option for IA to investigate if they know to look.
