New Year Service Overdue Bug

Have you looked into the Menu, i.e.
Settings > Vehicle functions > Vehicle Information > Active warning and status ?

It tells you about Remaining Distance & Engine hours 😰

On top of my 2061 days overdue service, the display is no longer reacting to the double tap on the column switch. I now seem to be losing info such as MPG, etc. Will observe over the next few days.
I don’t do anything when I startup in the morning. Just normal checks and start procedure, then drive to work. The warning subsides and stops popping up.

It's dying 🫣 ; must be China.
But it's still driving OK?

My Heating system is totally screwed up :( had a really uncomfortable 2.5hr drive out of Heathrow. Either I get full heat, full on, freaking boiling - if I push the de-mist for the front screen. Or I get ice cold with every setting on the HVAC system.

What position do I have on the list?

Anyone else have the heated seats acting differently? They still work, but shut off sooner and don’t stay as warm.
No issues here I use mine all the time in the cold am in AZ..... I hope this doesn't become a trending issue... lol Time to stop by the dealer

Check your two cooling water circuits first, topping up if required and reset your infotainment. If you are lucky, it will be one or both of those.
Had a look at the two coolant reservoirs and the level seems to be between the max and min, when cold.

A reset via holding down the mute button does not seem to have done anything either. Maybe with some luck this deep sleep overnight will automatically fix it.

Fill up to the max. The last thing to try before swearing and ranting at the dealer is a bleed from cold.

I can't shake the feeling that the heating is related somehow to the date bug. But will try and do the bleed procedure tomorrow. Ta

A couple of weeks ago the overdue warning reappeared about 8 hours of continuous running after I cancelled it. The stalk procedure would not then work. Last Saturday the same thing happened after about 4 hours.

Turning off and restarting makes the stalk procedure work again.

Two things you can try here @Ron50.
Tap on any of the infotainment screen menus, like HOME, or press the OK button next to the Toot button. Either action should reset the focus on the screen so you can clear messages using the TRIP button.

Being born after 2021 places the Grenadier into Generation Alpha. That precedes Beta, which seems strangely appropriate for some of the software quirks.

I get it, but I think "stupidity" (of some kind) is genuinely a reason for the head unit bugs. I'm not saying that because I think I'm better than the people who made it. Like a few people on this thread I work in software dev, and I have done plenty of stupid things that caused dumb bugs.

But the specific issues (altimeter wrong, fuel gauge wrong) suggest some possible factors:
  • dev team out of their depth and badly managed
  • lack of oversight from stakeholders (IA), or last minute scope creep
  • poorly defined requirements or lack of documentation
And it's not unreasonable for an owner to see the effect of that and complain, even if they don't understand that solving these problems is genuinely difficult.

My personal bias, which might or might not explain the problem, is that UK companies often see software as a cost to be minimized. It's frustrating that IA got top global talent (e.g. Magna Steyr) to design the hardware, and then penny-pinched on the head unit software. And this is stupid, because it's cost them $$$ and damaged their brand.

But they're a new auto manufacturer and it's important to recognize just how much they got right as well. The car is overall really good and I still recommend it to people. There are a ton of little design features that more than make up for a few bugs. The frustrating thing is that they could be fixed, and then we could all stop complaining forever (maybe)
The issue is very substantially hardware related. The MY23 control unit is underpowered, causing may of the glitches. Upgrading to a newer unit with greater processing power solves much. IA used 5 different control units between MY23 and MY25.

The OK button is my go to, and works, for accessing that menu area.
