New and waiting for my order

The time is getting closer, according to latest update the vessel with my vehicle should be docking in Melbourne by end of the month - exited

@PalmCoveWagon - in short, the contract did not listed all the options as selected when making initial order, including factory fit item

Thanks. That’s crazy. So do you think the missed items made it into the build?

Hi @Draho I’m curious to hear if the spec and contract issue was resolved and if you received your truck. Thanks.
Hi, the contract issue was resolved with the help of an agent/dealer and just today I received request for final payment. I assume that the vehicle arrived in Australia and it is on the way to a dealer or at the dealership already - getting closer.

Thanks. I assume you don't make final payment until you put eyeballs on the truck?

Unfortunately, the Agent system (all is done over internet) does not work that way, final payment must be made minimum two days prior to delivery
That is a garbage model - I would never pay more than a deposit before seeing and test driving the vehicle

Buying a new build vehicle rarely works that way. Typically, you test the dealer's stock model. Then make the decision where you spec, order, put down deposit and then pay the remainder just before you drive it away. Its different if you are buying a stock model.

Here’s how it worked in the US - I paid a $500 reservation fee for my specific online configuration. When my Grenadier was ready, went to the dealer, looked it over, drove it - if I didn’t like it, I could walk away, and my reservation fee was refunded. In fairness, that’s why US dealers are still stuck with old inventory. My dealer in Chicago told me about one customer who ordered 3, and never even bothered to show up to look at them. Just canceled all the orders, after they were already on the dealer’s books. I think it’s a little different now - I think there is a bigger initial deposit, and I’m not sure what portion is refundable. But now there are dealer units that prospective buyers can test before they place an order - when I ordered mine in ‘23, there weren’t even open dealers in the US. I would still be really unhappy with your agent model - full payment prior to delivery. Don’t like that at all.

Depending on the US state, non refundable deposits are frequently illegal. Regarding my Australian ineos I’m unlikely to pay before seeing it in person. What happens if it falls of the delivery truck?

The first new car I bought was a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9L Limited Edition and I really miss that vehicle. I was young back then but Jeep-Chrysler made it a perfect delivery experience. I had a few more used (dealer certified) 4x4 vehicles from Ford and Toyota since then and mostly BMW and Toyota saloon cars in the last 15 years. I am back in the big 4x4 world. I am nervous now. INEOS is new to the market and I have been doing research.

What questions do I need to ask and what do I need to look out for before I accept delivery? The vehicle is due to be delivered 28 June 2025. I ordered the Trialmaster in October 2024. Delayed because of the Recaro seat issue.

Here is my list of delivery inspection questions so far. Please give me feedback.
