Thought it would be interesting to compare.

THere are the prices, and then there is the overall state of the car industry and market. I can't think of a worse time to come out with a new car, outside of the oil embargo issues of the 70s. THat Ineos has stayed the path is amazing, that they are still around is incredible.

It's an interesting exercise, but I'm afraid what happened between 2020 and today with vehicle prices would add another 20% and more to the cost.

I just reentered the used car market and it was an exercise in extreme patience convincing car dealers it isn't 2022 or 2023.

Add to that, my guess is that a fancy BMW engine and ZF auto will be 10k more expensive than a transit van engine and manual gearbox from the 1970s.
