So, the previous owner had a setup installed from MB Quart that includes amps and crossover under both front seats, speakers, tweeters and a sub. Got in the vehicle the other day after being a way for a week and the treble frequencies sound like someone someone screaming through mylar and there was zero bass.

Basically, I'm gong to replace the entire thing, plus, I hated the sub, made everything sound like flatulent edm. The tweeters don't actually work either, so, have to buy a new a-pillar trim piece to cover the hole they drilled in it.

Mainly, I need the space back from the sub-woofer, so that's going, and I want to install speakers that don't require an amp or crossover. Essentially, I'd be happy with stock setup. I'd rather use the space under the front seats for storage.

Need to figure out where to start, I'm assuming they wired some of this stuff into the head unit. Do I need to remove the head unit to get behind it? What's involved in that?
(Not really looking forward to this, but I just don't have the patience for things that don't work in a daily driver.)

Recommendations for replacement speakers?

Thanks!

The head unit is behind the two panels below the steering wheel.

It has those standard ISO plugs, so it might be plug and unplay.
You should also have a factory 8 pin connector for the sub under the back seats.

Good luck.
