Isolating a Roof Plug

Has anyone been able to isolate one of the 3 roof line plugs that are on the Ext 3 circuit? I’m looking to power extra lights or a starlink mini that I’d rather keep separate from my scene lights and not route have to run more wires though the roofline.

My only guess is wiring in something like a Garmin power switch from where the EXT 3 roof plugs are sourced, but not sure if I’m this chasing potential use case down correctly.

Any ideas?

Interetesed in isolating the EXT 3 plugs as well. All I can add is that removing the grab handle panel allows limited access to to an internal Deutch connector, in the harness to the external connector. You could run a new supply wire without having to create a new roof penetration (re-purposing the external Deutsch).

I added external waterproof inline switches to the 2 rear roof outlets - effectively gives me 2 circuits that I can operate separately or together (all current warning & camp lights are under the 10A limit should I ever need them at the same time).

I usually have the rear warning light switch set on & the camp lights off so I can activate the warning lights if needed from the overhead switch.

I still have the front outlet available for ???? !

The ones I got were “yak-power” brand on amazon, but looks Ike they are currently unavailable :

I searched for others using “inline waterproof switch 12v”

I just cut off the SAE connectors & used heat shrink solder butt connectors to the lights & dip connector to the truck. Note - the led light in the switch is either on when powered or on all the time, depending which direction you wire it. (Mine only glow when powered)

Thanks to some guidance in this thread I have completed a very satisfactory, sleek, and stealthy work light installation to the front side roof grab bars and the rear of my Grenadier.

The three work lights used are the Stedi Micro V2 7.8" LED flood lights. I picked mine up here from Napa.

Here's how I connected everything:

I did something similar but i used a button i thought was more elegant.
I split my wire from the roof outlet into two. One path goes directly to atarlink, the other goes to the button below which feeds my aide lights.
This is my button. Marine grade and has built in dimmer which has worked well with all LED lights I've tried.

I then bought a piece of flat aluminum bar, i cut two screw holes in it and a bigger hole for the dimmer switch. Rattle can painter it black and mounted it to my grab handle mounts. Super stealthy and looks great in the dark.

I put a bit of black silicone hose over the threads in the rear behind the bar to camouflage it a bit. It's been well over a year and it just works.

Note that i was tidying up the wires behind when i took this. It's super stealthy..
