I purchased a AO Grab Handle w/ RAM 6″ Single Swing Arm Mount last year, and have always been disappointed by the RAM mount. It is cast wrong and my iPad sits crooked. So I bought a BulletPoint set, 20mm ball with stud, extendable arm, and iPad holder. I found a knob on Amazon to put the 20mm ball w/stud into the mounting hole in the AO Grab Handel. It works great when I don’t have a navigator.
But what about iPhone video. In Moab in my my wife (navigator) tried to video what we could as we drove, but it was a bit jumpy, and tiring. So I bought the BulletPoint phone holder for the Grab Handle, and we used it yesterday.
What I am impressed by is the phone is rigidly mounted to the dash, so the iPhone is swinging around with the body of the Grenadier. But if you look at the video, the hood is swinging around as we roll +/- 10° over the bumps and the image is still. The image stabilization is much better than I thought it was. Pretty cool. I am sure the iPhone and Pixel have done this for years, and I didn’t know.
