Infotainment change

It’s not great voice quality - but there’s cabin and wind noise, speaker/mic quality etc. Seems fine for a 4x4 TBH. If I’m on an important call I pull over and just use my phone speaker - all Bluetooth has some cutout.
oddly, I've found car play functionality and sound quality to be awesome. .... i also have hearing damage, but, it's almost as good as my ford F trucks. the maps freeze 1-2 times per long trip, once causing me to drive 40m on the wrong highway, but I was in a zone too.

If sounds muffled then I would suspect microphone...make sure not full of dust....and maybe they can just replace that if not covered by something accidentally. Also, make sure speaking need to speak towards windshield or center a bit not turning head or stuff as it is up high. I have not heard any complaints on mine unless I am looking out window or talking downward....if speaking loud and towards front center seems fine. Good luck but guessing is microphone....should be able to replace that as it plugs into infotainment.
Software might help too if they are able to filter background noise and enhance voice modulation.... I am guessing the small hole in roof panel is the microphone port above your head? Good luck.

That just means the whole world sounds bad to you, you deaf old coot. Sort of like me - “why do kids these days all mumble and not speak up?”

Hi, I had the upgrade at Harwoods when it came out with difference at all, I have tested it in really good signal areas to no avail, I can hear them but they say I sound like I’m underwater.
The upgrade fixed mine ( an early build vehicle). But the techs had to do the upgrade strictly as advised by Ineos. And checked that it worked before releasing the car back to me. A dealer visit for me is 2 days off work and the cost of fuel either direction. Plus a nice pub lunch en route. So it really comes down to dealer competence and committment.
Very few owners have had a lemon infotainment unit.
At least our cars are mechanically robust , unlike the newest 4x4s from Ford and Chevy with self destructing engines now being recalled.

It's not just you @Annee. In case you haven't seen it there is a whole other thread on this complaint here.

IA update aside; @tristand posted about his investigation and the fix he did - here (he replaced some of the microphone cable). The same fix may not work for other vehicles but it is a solid indicator of a potential cabling issue.

If that thread has similarities Annee then perhaps discuss this with your dealer. I recently used some forum information to support my agent to obtain fast approval for a warranty repair. I didn't tell them how to fix my vehicle. I gave them examples of the same fault in other vehicles and what was done about it.

It's another reason this forum is important. We're building a book of knowledge that doesn't exist in the same form or detail anywhere else.

Thanks again Mr @Stu_Barnes for having the foresight to create the slate we chisel into. Good onya Stu! 👍

I think the thread is well worded and Annee don't sell because the Info and Entertainment will be deminished somewhat. As Clark Kent has said, chisel into but not through the slate which Stu created for positive Change.

Correction - lecherous deaf old coot. What’s sad is you’ve probably been talking to lamp posts and mailboxes for the last couple of years and just don’t realize it’s not actually a woman.
Thou doth protest too much.

Look, does it really matter? Reality is just perception. If your perception is good, life is good, if it’s bad, life is bad. If it’s a telephone pole and I get along with it, does it really matter?

It's quite possible she has something amiss like the mic, and she's getting poor customer service. I'd bet on that.
Mine is the same, everyone complains about the sound quality saying there is lots of background noise. This is whether I'm stationary or drivings slowly or at speed. I can here everyone really clearly in the vehicle. The dealers acknowledge an issue but say there is no solution yet.
