Infotainment change

Hi all,
Has anyone managed to change their infotainment system for something that actually works regarding the phone.
I’d just like a communication system that people can hear me through.
The update for the phone etc did absolutely nothing.

Zero chance of replacing the the infotainment system.
It does however have standard ISO connectors so you could add on an aftermarket Bluetooth module for phones/streaming.

Yes.

A typical decent quality unit such as the 3 Bury ones in the link below plug into the ISO connectors on the back of the audio head unit which is under the steering wheel behind a few panels.

This type will mute the radio while you are on a call and it looks like they have some decent functionality.

The one with just the buttons looks the most subtle, the more expensive ones you can do a bit more with.

Ask Ineos to fix it. I have a MY25 QM with safari. No one complained and my mother said it sounded like I was calling on a land line. I have a pixel 9pro and run android auto

Fair point. I've also got that phone and wireless android on a 23MY and it is fine

How would they fix it ? My service centre has closed and I’m not driving 300 miles round trip for them to do the same thing they’ve done before re the software update which was supposed to have fixed it….it didn’t.

It’s not simply a media player.. it’s the interface to access your vehicle’s operating conditions and vehicle configurations.

What aftermarket radio would have feature parity with all of the above?

You need to get a warranty replacement of your broken oem infotainment module.

Sorry, but this irrational reaction to the oem infotainment issue now has me doubting the severity of the Namibia stories…

I have no clue, I am in America. We got new places pening up right and left here. See if you can take it to an audio shop to get it diagnosed.

I am saying the vehicle is bound to the proprietary Ineos infotainment system. This is not some early 2000s vehicle tech where you can swap for whatever double DIN aftermarket radio you want

I’m sorry if I’m not Au fait with the ins and outs of said technology so i was unaware I could simply just add whatever to the vehicle to get a better connection on the phone….apologies for being so thick.

If its poor audio quality then its half a chance its the microphone. Not sure the placement of it in a Grenadier but had other modern cars (Porsches) with full infotainment where the mic was at fault. Part of the problem is it is subjective. Is it mobile to mobile, signal strength, are you moving at speed between mobile towers etc. I'm not saying it isnt the car but establish a good reference (strong signal to landline, record the call). I feel your pain on dealer as Harwoods was my local and the service is due soon so will have to figure that out. Having a recording / current s/w version etc and phone (no pun) the dealer might save a journey.

It’s not great voice quality - but there’s cabin and wind noise, speaker/mic quality etc. Seems fine for a 4x4 TBH. If I’m on an important call I pull over and just use my phone speaker - all Bluetooth has some cutout.

Hi, I had the upgrade at Harwoods when it came out with difference at all, I have tested it in really good signal areas to no avail, I can hear them but they say I sound like I’m underwater.
