Has anyone else received a letter from the CEO asking for feedback as an early purchaser of the Grenadier

Maybe they are rolling this out by country ? A few of us have had letters and then phone appointments to speak to a representative regarding our views on the vehicle. A good positive move I think getting the views of owners who had Grenadiers for a while. Direct from the horses mouth as they say.

This is encouraging and I don't own one but are ready to buy, but a few things that are holding me back from a test drive, looking at the car and internet complaints. Some are mentioned elsewhere but I've been looking at these for 12 months now and no experience owning one but Id like to add some points if you could give feedback. Those in the know having one will know which points below are nothing to be raised, internet BS or I'm talking crap.
1. Dealer and service centre support, especially in WA. The one dealer is ok I suppose depending on where you live but those further than 500 km's from Perth need at least a service and warranty repair centre with factory trained techs. This might be a hard one to resolve due to population vs sales but at least we have one in Perth. Include perhaps a free breakdown service whilst under warranty then after the 5 years perhaps still offer it but at a discounted price for loyal owners who support this brand to get it back to dealer. I've been stung by this free 100km towing service in the outback before and cost almost just as much to tow the car another 400kms as it did to get the car fixed. Wouldn't it be better to be towed behind a QM on a car trailer than a tow truck for all to see. I know this is asking a lot but after 5 years of owning one, with or without having used this service Id trade up to a newer model knowing I have the confidence when I stuck somewhere until you they get the dealer network sorted. If you cant support us with extra dealerships for warranty repairs etc due to not enough sales then keep the breakdown service permanently. Depot in Perth/ Pilbara/Kimberley's/NT. Diagnostic tool that can access all the codes to assist for any call outs while under warranty. The Alliance 24hr service isn't worth its weight. Perhaps the cost of this could be used for a better in house service.
2. A manual, book or digital copy form to take with me in the outback for obvious reasons with good electrical schematics. NO INTERNET required to view in time of need.
3.Spare parts inventory in Australia. Not asking for every part but, radiators, lower cooling radiators for g/box etc, bearings, alternators, sensors. Basically all the things that may need servicing/replacing at short notice. I don't want to be stuck in a town or place waiting on a part to come for SIX plus weeks, from Belgium.
4. The front steering damper and 90L fuel tank height. It just appears to be too low. Anyone else think this. Has it concerned any of you owners? If not then disregard this comment.
5. Bring out an option for a proper snorkel not a raised air intake. Contact GrenX here in Oz and do a deal with them to supply them to the factory as an option. They have an awesome factory look in aluminium or round tube style available.
6. Come out with better rock sliders with steps from factory.
7. the left foot thing. There is an option here in Oz that's been tested. Mould something similar from the factory. Although this never bothered me for a 30 minute road test I'm not sure how it would go driving 10 hours.
8. Watched a video of a wagon coming out of a turn and it clearly showed the death wobble in the front wheels. Can this be fixed with the caster angle? Can the existing caster be adjusted or is there no concern. I'm not an expert here.
9. If your going to option a winch, then give us the choice which brand not just one option worth 5k only. Try extending the factory winch rope in free spool, almost need another winch to release the winch rope.
10. Move the rear camera to centre and make the camera view full screen when in reverse.

In reality some minor problems that are addressable with some big cost and others not. My main concern being dealer back-up and support to a vehicle that is almost perfect. And thankyou Jim for investing in the dreams of others bringing a real 4WD to the market. And credit to INEOS for reaching out to customers.
Just my 2cents worth

There’s a lot in your post, not trying to be rude but you are over thinking it. The vehicle is what it is, wishing and waiting for it to morph into something else is futile. It’s an amazing base product from the factory that can be tweaked and modified to be what you want it to be. Want a snorkel, better sliders, easier steering damper, different bumper with bigger winch then buy and fit them. Want Toyota levels of dealer support and service in remote WA, buy a Toyota not an Ineos. BTW death wobble (always cracks me up that term) is non-existent with the factory steering damper, only reported when using aftermarket dampers.

Link to video? To my knowledge, there have been few (zero) instances of death wobble with the stock damper setup.

Your not being rude mate. I look at at all comments and discussions as constructive. The internet world will always gather other opinions from peoples posts. Its just my thoughts only. Yes the vehicle is what it is and every MY car that's comes out will have some improvements or upgrades as in the INEOS which are making improvements every new model and there keen to fix the issues. As for dealer support and service. Not asking for Toyota service but a compromise would be nice and a work around. INEOS could never give the same level of dealer service as Toyota due to a Neche market but they could find a work around for service centres, not dealers, which I believe they're working on. I know three other people that would by an INEOS but service centres or lack there of over here in WA are a potential buyers issue. The other items would be nice and wish list and FWIW none of the items listed except support of some sorts and a w/shop manual if I can get the car to any reputable/certified mechanical workshop in any town are a deal breaker for me. Its a new car and off the bat INEOS have done an incredible job to say the least. There is a guy here who dropped his tail shaft and lucky he wasn't far from a dealer in Tassie. If that was up the Gibb or Canning stock route through no fault of the driver but fault with the car under warranty, then getting it towed to a certified mechanic to have parts sent to for replacement would help but instead it has to go all the way back to Perth. If we had the same amount of dealers as in the Eastern States I wouldn't hesitate but WA has less population and demographics so a work around is always possible. Nothing cant be solved. I'll hang out for the MY26 models as I have my build ready as they will be improved in some form.

There was a video showing a pre-production and pre PTO model moving at pace on a dirt trail exhibiting steering wobble?
That could've been the one mate. I've only ever seen it on one video on YouTube and I'm not sure I'll be able to find it but Ill keep looking tonight as it was very evident when they showed it in slow motion and made comment of the fact on it. Its the only vid I've seen and haven't heard of anyone else seeing or feeling it as an issue though. I've road tested a trial master twice, hard, and it was very nice to drive. The steering took me 5 minutes to get use too.

Shopkeep that video shows the exact wobble. Interestingly though the review i watched appears to have used this exact same clip from this video for their review with their own comments. Thanks for posting this. Ive read a couple of degrees caster would fix this but then this would affect the drive line in other ways. Not sure if ineos has fixed this wobble

It’s fixed. There is no wobble with the factory damper, none, nada, zero. They over engineered it to prevent what happened in that video, hence the weird steering feel and lack of return to centre. When you replace the factory damper with an aftermarket unit some wobble has been reported mainly from US customers (my theory is their shitty concrete freeways with regular/rhythmic expansion joints can trigger the wobble at speed). I replaced the damper, fixed the steering but have not experienced wobble ever.

Shopkeep thats some good knowledge and thanks for clarification. Sometimes one has to take a hit to seek answers and syphon the BS from fact as nowhere was I able to get answer regarding this. Great knowledge share.

And your theory would be wrong, because wobble is an internal resonance in the system that would have to start on the first hit. Repeated hit may prevent it from decreasing but, the issue still remains.

The weight of the damper wasn’t a mistake. If changing it I would get the adjustable unit and work my way down to see where my particular car started to exhibit the behavior, and then go a click up.

Zim are you saying it can be mitigated with the adjustable damper. If that's the case then it's a solution.
