Increased Fuel Tank

Two questions:
1. Isn’t there any regulation or required test for fuel tanks? What happens when the Chinese tank leaks or breaks in an accident?
2. Could you find anything about the hight of it? I can imagine that it takes some of the ground clearance under it (I actually did not check how much I have under the original one)
1. This question applies equally to the auxiliary tanks from Long Range Automotive, Brown Davis, FK and Skyline and is why these style tanks are often labeled as to be for off road use only.
2. Based on the photos and a close look at the height of my OEM tank it appears the Skyline and FK tanks have the same ground clearance as OEM. The additional volume is achieved by being shaped to fill in what was previously empty space not dropping down lower.

Found this on an internet search. Just need some KO3 tires,

When I started studying how to get the main tank rotated over the drive line and realized it weight a little over a 100 pounds I decided to get it installed where they had a lift. Got it done today and they used three people to rotate the tank in. Took about 6 hours and the tanks fit well bolting right in. The mounting plate for the in tank pump was a little too wide and needed a small trim to slide home.

Check valves must have been a little sticky on the first fill and the tanks didn’t want to tank full pump flow for the first 5-6 gallons. Freed up after that. There was some question about how fr let it would overflow to the smaller tank. It that went smoothly. It did take $193 to fill up, but that should be a 700 mile range.
