Increased Fuel Tank

Two questions:
1. Isn’t there any regulation or required test for fuel tanks? What happens when the Chinese tank leaks or breaks in an accident?
2. Could you find anything about the hight of it? I can imagine that it takes some of the ground clearance under it (I actually did not check how much I have under the original one)
1. This question applies equally to the auxiliary tanks from Long Range Automotive, Brown Davis, FK and Skyline and is why these style tanks are often labeled as to be for off road use only.
2. Based on the photos and a close look at the height of my OEM tank it appears the Skyline and FK tanks have the same ground clearance as OEM. The additional volume is achieved by being shaped to fill in what was previously empty space not dropping down lower.
