Plenty of threads about this, but sometimes a video is clearer than words. Those AC cooling temps of > 100ºF are crazy, and many of us have experienced these problems even with the latest software updates.
I recently listened to the interview with Ineos CEO Lynn Calder, in which she addressed the systemic HVAC problems in Grenadiers. She had this to say:
Nobody is asking for an “amazing climate control system,” Lynn. We’re asking for basic functionality like selectable heating and cooling to work. We’re asking to not have to hear whistling in the cabin whenever we need HVAC. Basic things that work in a $30,000 car should work at least as well in a premium-priced vehicle like the Grenadier. And solving in the hypothetical Fusilier offers nothing material to Grenadier owners.
I’m glad they are working on the problem. I appreciate that Ineos is listening. It seems apparent that this will require a refit of 100% of the fleet. Else they’re going to be buying back a lot of vehicles. Sorry if that sounds negative, but I’m short on time as I head back to the dealer for another software problem in my first 2K miles.

“The reason that the HVAC system is not amazing is because it wasn't really, I mean, packaging is an issue, right? So it's not that we have within our gift to put in a completely different system, even if we wanted to, because there just isn't the space. And there isn't the space because of our fabulous drivetrain, and the firewall and the crash testing that we've done and everything. Like it's just not going to be within our gift.
What we can do and what we are doing is that we're looking at, adding additional motors, adding additional sensors, adding slightly different airflow techniques, which kind of equalizes things a little bit better.
So I suppose my answer is, we're listening, we're working really hard on it. Things will get better, but it's never going to be unfortunately, the most amazing climate control system. And we'll take that learning from our very kind of rugged off-road car into Fusilier where we make sure that a lot of the things that we talk about in the Grenadier, make sure that those things are picked up and we come with the sensibilities of a system that people really want in a car.”
