Heated windscreens - interest?

Would you order one?

It’s entirely possible it might be quicker to get one of these than one from Ineos 😂
For me, autoglass were the hold up. They turned up with a MY23 windscreen rather than MY24.
They had plenty of stock of MY23 but none for MY24. After three months of waiting for Autoglass to get one, I checked with the dealer who gave me the part number and confirmed with Ineos that there was stock and no shortage. I then complained to Autoglass, and they had one within days.

They would have to certify that an ADAS enabled Grenadier could successfully recalibrate after installing the new windscreen - auto manufacturers typically publish detail specifications for this for aftermarket glass manufacturers- but I kinda doubt Ineos has done this 😅
They haven't. Autoglass did not have access to the software and could not calibrate and I received multiple messages about the need to go to the dealer to get the calibration done. Which I did. But it also turned out the dealer didn't have the equipment to do it either, but was able to put together a method to do it.

Perhaps the ADAS version will fit the non-ADAS version but not vice versa. I have no idea.
The glass is different (the dark surround goes around the area of the ADAS box at the top of the windscreen.

Plus, the upper seal/frame piece (not sure of the specific name) is supplied with a new windscreen. They frequently break when the old windscreen is removed, and Ineos supply the seal with the new windscreen. I don't know if the frame piece is different. Here is an MY23:

Here is what is claimed to be an MY25 with ADAS but appears to be missing the frame piece - every new vehicle from that dealer appears to be missing it (VINS in the 24,500 range). But their older vehicles in their stock have it:

And an MY24 with ADAS with the frame piece:

The difference in the ADAS, non ADAS is clear to see. The frame piece is interesting as it appears newer builds don't have it. (My July 2024 build has it)

Ahhh bugger.

Yeah when mine cracked (Dec 23 from memory) Autoglass had them in stock something like next day. I was pleasantly surprised

£280+VAT, including the glass😉😂My “Carglass” repair, told me , that he invoices 2000€ the insurance for a new Grenny windshield

P.S I could take all ten and sell 8 to friends, put one in stock, next crack will
happen in time

Can this manufacture come up with a way to heat the headlights or even heated low beam aux lights? The windshield icing is definitely a problem for me, but headlights being covered in slush is an even bigger problem.

There are 2 major suppliers for aftermarket heated headlights that supply for a lot of Jeeps - unfortunately those won’t work (wrong dimensions) on the Grenadier, and customer service at both told me they had no plans to offer anything that would work for us

Got a reply from them.

They would need to make a run of ten and they’ll be around £300-350 each including vat.

Anyone around Tamworth be happy to go in for a template to be made?

I’m 8 hours away 😆
I'm in but need an ADAS version. Maybe make them all ADAS since it doesn't matter if you are lucky and don't have that stupid "feature". I currently have a huge crack in my windshield. how much to ship to Los Angeles?

How do you go about getting this type of screen fitted, it was kind of easier with the old rubber strips and bits of string? Will the dealer fit or Autoglass fit someone else's screen?
