Finishing up the 109's front axle and had a set of conditioned swivel gaiters, so on they went!

I guess it is 5 in total. Wife currently has a 2020 Range Rover Sport L494. The rest were mine. They ultimately strayed two far from being capable off road machines. In fact, I purchased a 2022 Bronco so I had a good off roader while I had my full size L405. The Grenadier took the place of both the Bronco and the L405... its a bargain when you look at it that way.

Evidently I still do!

Electrical screen after startup this morning, though a stop to refuel, two more stops (with restarts) and about 20 miles of driving. Note the SOC.

Didn’t really worry about it. Vehicle started and drove fine so I figured it was the magic behind the screen, or my auxiliary battery was earning its keep. Five miles later and it switched to this (SOC),

Knowing my LR’s would get me home, this was strictly a keep my eye on it situation.

Currently own a 2021 Defender 90 P300 and probably will wind up with a 110 X as the wife wants/needs 4 doors for kid shuttling duties.
I like the new Defender as a road and foul weather SUV but I don’t think I’d subject it to the offroad use that my Grenadier has been through.
 
I owned a 1970 Series IIa for a few years from 1987 to about 1991 (I was 17 to 21) Went a lot of places in the desert southwest and spent every penny I earned keeping it on the road. So much so that I decided to sell it for something more reliable.

Both my brothers owned it before me (that was probably the problem.) One of them had the engine rebuilt, but I ended up dong the transmission, and rear diff. I also spent a lot of time and money sorting some of the questionable work that was done before I came along. In fact, I started fixing it before I owned it, because I was a better mechanic than my brother, and I was cheap labor. My eldest brother had wider rims made and put 33x12.5s on it. I broke a couple axle shafts until I could downsize tires. I think the replacement shafts were made out of glass, but still- those tires were too big.

Interestingly, my eldset brother still puts oversize tires on all his rigs. He still deals with the things you get for that. I learned from my first vehicle ownership experience that there are a lot of complications that come with oversize tires. It's rare I'd actually need a tire larger than stock, and pretty much go everywhere he does.
 
1956 Series 1 88” SW - my first car. My folks dragged it back from a scrap yard and gave it to me for my 17th birthday. Then spent the next 18 months stripping it down to the chassis and rebuilding from the ground up. The one vehicle I regret selling.

1961 Series 2 88” SW - great vehicle.

1957 Series 1 107” SW - a previous owner had put in a Ford 3L V6 motor - a fun drive as one could now keep up with the traffic but not a great match to the landy’s gearbox.

1981 Range Rover Classic 2 door - just loved the roly-poly suspension and sound of that V8.

2001 Range Rover P38 4.6 Vogue -head gasket, gearbox and air suspension failures.

2007 Range Rover L322 TdV8 Vogue - supreme long distance tourer. Did a 2000km 21hr trip in one hop, after waiting for 9 days to have front struts replaced and the vehicle flat bedded back to the lodge we were staying at, after a 5 day dune trip in Namibia.

Yes, a quick mental count and since the 1970’s until I traded in the last one at two years old in 2016 I have owned enough to run well into double figures.
These ranged from various Series of various types, 90’s, 110’s, three new Puma’s, couple of Range Rovers, couple Discoveries, an ex RAF 127 ambulance and the wife had a new Freelander 2.
I have also moderated and co / admin a couple of online Land Rover forums going back quite a few years.
