Has anybody priced the new 26 steering box?

They shouldn't notice such a fine movement.
Don't forget the drive shafts have splines and I have just been repairing the concentina rubber boot that is there to cover the spline as it is moving length ways on the shaft. The boot may have snagged something or a hit from a flying object. (y)

Drive shaft splines are used to transfer high torque and rotational power between components (like transmission to driveshaft) while allowing for axial movement (length changes) and maintaining precise alignment. These ridges prevent slippage, share load across multiple teeth for durability, and accommodate suspension movement.
Maybe it’s just me but I don’t understand what you are trying to communicate

I'm guessing you have a combination of English being a second language, AI and maybe a touch of alcohol going on there. And likely a misunderstanding of what is going on.

I was chatting to the mechanic at the dealer the other day, hs said the 26 string is much lighter and faster lock to lock but he prefers the old version. I suspect I would too. I have never had an issue with it...

Service tech told me they won't offer the swap because the software becomes the problem. They have no way to use the new programming for the new steering box. Very open ended there but it is possible they added a different control module that needs programmed that the old module won't work with.... Reminds me of Owl's box, if you get an update you have to get the steering box reprogrammed.

I just want the PSP whine to be fixed - otherwise I have no issues with the steering in my '24 - sounds like a simple request, but one that is it seems increasingly unlikely to get resolved !!

This sounds right to me. ESC is the issue. The box itself will bolt right up as a direct swap but the software is still expecting the same relationship between the position of the steering wheel and the position of the tires and it no longer matches.
