Fuel line failure- diesel

Hi All,
Quick update on current solution. I am non-metro/Rural so most of my local shops have limited SOH, and easy to special order items but I have to head on a ~2000km journey today. The best fix I could find in the time frame was a spiral wrap from Pirtek.
The guys there were super nice!!! Good old fashion service, they cut me a nice 1m length free of charge to help me out! Legends!
I have applied this to both the brake and fuel lines and tweaked the bracket a touch to increase clearance. The lines will still make contact on bumpy surfaces regardless, but now with the wraps in place I feel more confident to head off on this journey.

Thanks all for the feedback. I hope this helps other before it becomes a stranding issue for you. Photos as below showing the fabric initially installed with zip tie next to the replacement wrap. Then 2 images of it installed, the wide angle shot hopefully shows the location of the issue more clearly @TheDocAUS
Great fix. Another common method I use is to split rubber fuel or vacuum hose and zip tie in place. You could even put this over your spiral wrap.

I just checked my petrol fuel lines and did not find any brake line interference. But a quick flick of my finger says the fuel tubing it very thin.

This is an active inspection now on a tech bulletin if anyone wants a copy of it it was sent to me yesterday, in my case they replaced the fuel line and added a bit of flexi conduit over the rubing area.

How did the Pirtek split tubing work out?
Hi mate,
My solution worked well and has held up over a couple of thousand kilometres, many of them off road.

Interesting, INEOS Australia and the dealership have differing views on the ‘solution’ provided. I’m still awaiting official information, but I understand there is supposed to be other parts fitted to my car…

Time will tell. But for now I trust my own work over what was provided to me.

On a positive note seems to have been picked up and addressed by Ineos rather quickly which is great to see.
Major safety risk really, the amount of diesel I had spitting on my rear wheel area could easily have caused and accident… tyres and diesel are a bad combo!
