I have reviewed the various posts on this topic & still can’t find a suitable location to get a Midland MXT275 radio antenna cable through the firewall. The connector is about 3/8” (10mm) in diameter.

I have a US 2025 model Trialmaster with safari windows, front winch, high load aux switching etc. so all the grommet locations in the footwells are used. See pics :

Can I make slit in one of the existing grommets (the large wire loom soft grommets would be easiest I think) then seal with silicone) or are there any other available spots ?

Appreciate any help.

I would avoid cutting the grommet but it’s just my preference. There are other options if you want - you can run it through the floor through one of the water drains or through the ceiling and through one of the DTP exits at the top - that’s how I did mine.

There are grommets throughout the floorpan you'll just need to identify one that fits that thick antenna connector. You might need to go further back under the floor then come up.
The 3D body diagrams in the online parts catalogue are good for this. Locate a candidate grommet them find it on the vehicle.

This is the floorpan under the right side front. I'm in there currently doing a speaker upgrade with a small crossover. Example only.

Thanks guys, I pulled the floor mats & found a few of those grommets, but was running out of time & daylight to fiddle with those today. Got everything wired up to Int-1 (including mic pass thru & additional usb power ports on both sides). Used the little magnetic antenna that came with the kit on the corner of the dashboard just so I could test everything out & button all the dash panels back up for the day.

Will revisit the antenna issue another day, still not sure if I like my original idea of the ghost antenna on the hood mount bracket or if I just bite the bullet & go for the rack/rail mounted folding antenna route.
