Filling the engine oil

I checked the engine oil a month ago and it was 500ml short on the off-road.
I went to the dealer yesterday and filled it up and it was 700ml.
It's currently at 6600km and it seems to be smoother and quieter after filling the oil.

I have had to top mine up 500ml every 3000miles or so. Current mileage 11500. Diesel engine.

I haven't filled up the oil since beginning. The oil level indicator has regularly showed ok. I just had my third service a week ago (30k km) and my dealer confirmed that the oil level was OK.
