Which diesel engine oil level indication is correct, the dipstick or the electronic indicator. My dipstick indicates the full level but the electronic in vehicle test says 500ml is needed.

The owners manual reads don't use the dipstick. My understanding ( can't remember who told me though) is the that in the Grenadier the B57 engine uses a different oil pan and therefore the dipstick doesn't give the correct reading. But is the electronic reading saying 500ml is needed for "on road" or just the "off road reading".Which diesel engine oil level indication is correct, the dipstick or the electronic indicator. the oil level was for off road ,the on road was okThe owners manual reads don't use the dipstick. So basically if you are going to be driving "horizontally" it's OK. You only need 500ml if going Offroad. But initially I would add 300ml first and check again otherwise you might find an overfill warning. The electronic dipstick measures in 500ml incrementsthe oil level was for off road ,the on road was ok
