has anyone installed an defa electrical heater?

how did you run the cables for the interior heater?

I did just the interior heater. I'm planning on doing the block heater in the summer, but DEFA doesn't make anything that fits our vehicle. I would have to drain coolant, and tap in somewhere in the bottom, and add a little recirculating pump.

The cabin heater has been fantastic, and i love the app. I mounted the heater under the passenger seat. I ran the wires on the passenger side, from the battery, to the heater, and the 120v plug at the front of the car next to passenger side fog light. There is a big grommet in passenger side foot well at the fire wall, that had plenty of space. I also spliced the cable to make it long enough to reach the front of the truck.

From my understanding a block heater is a bit of a challenge on these BMW (and other newer) engines.

With no traditional thermostat instead an ECU controlled multi-way valve getting water circulation is not easy.
