I hope this is only affected by his personal goals and not by some problems lying ahead at IA!
Perhaps goods news he appears to be staying with Ineos. Will be interesting to see where he ends up, hopefully not being sent to their equivalent of the eastern front

Wow, sensing quite a negative vibe so far - headline of "is out" doesn't seem to follow his words, or indeed the way he came to the project or indeed his status within it.

Whilst CEO, Dirk was never a director of Ineos Automotive Ltd. Nor do I think (although I may be wrong) that he ever drew a salary from Ineos Automotive Ltd.

I think this reflects the unusual way, Sir Jim does business, organises his senior management, and gives them opportunities within the greater Group of businesses that they would not normally get without resigning and moving elsewhere.

It was quite simply, a time for a change.

He was one of the nice chaps who showed us around the factory in Episode 11 of Building the Grenadier. 🙂

Thanks
That movie was so long ago I had forgotten
I have stopped looking at anything from more than 3 months ago as they are all completely out of date now and the product has changed so much

Internal move.
To me this makes sense. He was probably a "start up" CEO charged with taking the vision from just that, a vision to getting to where they are now.
Challenge delivered.
Time to hand over to a more operationally focused CEO and look towards the next challenge Jim gives him.
Good luck Dirk, and that's for the ride. Good luck with your next gig.

“production start…on the horizon“.

At least we know customer production is yet to commence.

Heilmann was a car nut, which is good. My impression of the lady is that she loves numbers and not cars. But that"s just a feeling. We will see.

I don't know about the responsibilities at Ineos and whether she will sort out their IT mess. But one thing is for sure: it can only get better.

I'm not in the least surprised. Production has started. Different skill set needed to maintain momentum and start making a profit!
Long term succession planning in large organisations often involves "development" roles for highly regarded "next gen" execs. I'd wager that Dirk H is one of a very select group being groomed for future leadership of the Ineos group.... I think he's done a mighty job to bring the project from "musings in a pub" to production in such a relatively short time .
I wish him -and his successor-"bonne chance"!

Exactly emax! A "car nut" to motivate the new team and implement the "vision splendid".
Now they're in production the "vision splendid" phase has passed. Now it's all about "process" and "numbers", especially the numbers! No sentiment needed. Just the expected numbers to keep the "suits" happy... (wearing ties in the office is optional!);)

That's what I used to specialise in, fixing up or setting up new operations.
I would get bored if I was just running a business day to day
Other people who like that would do a much better job than me.

Cheer up off Grid! I interpreted it that customer production has indeed commenced and actual deliveries are on the horizon!:giggle:
You have a valid point, maybe I’ve interpreted the comment incorrectly.

Just get the feeling there’d be an announcement of some sort when vehicle spec is locked in and customer production had commenced.

Yeah, me too. I would've been out like a shot with Dirk before the beancounters have the run of the place.
