Compressor - mobile or built-in, which is preferable?

I was hoping Ineos was going to have a built-in air compressor in the cargo area as an option, but Toyota and their new 2025 4Runner Trailhunter beat them to it :(

Yeah, but it’s still a Toyota! Is the compressor plastic 🤔

I bought the Agile Off-road single kit but then returned it as I wasn’t comfortable with the space/heat between it and the secondary battery (I’d have kept and installed it if I didn’t have the secondary battery setup). I went with a Milwaukee brand, but the same idea as some above with a drill, lantern, fan all running off the same battery packs. This is the most heavy duty tire inflator I’ve ever seen (and it should be for that price).IMG_1077.jpeg

Love my Makita. Have a lot of Makita and some Festool. The Makita post hole auger is phenomenal, as is the Chainsaw and just about every piece of kit they produce. I completely agree about the inflator also. Only today I took it with me to help out a friend with a flat. So much quicker than my ARB.

I only buy and use Makita because it works, they honor warranties, their stuff almost never breaks and its bang for buck is unmatched (in my view).

However, regarding compressors. I think everyone in my field and inner circle uses a very basic portable compressor. They range from XTM / Dune / Boss - none use the ARB because its cost is out of control. My last compressor was a portable 12V, cost $85 bought in 2008 and lasted until last year (15 years!).
