Complaining about issues with IG? - it’s not just Ineos…..

I'm still in the considering phase. I really love the Ineos ethos, but the HVAC and CV boot difficulties give me pause. Where I am, it's 110° plus in the summers and gets down to the high 20° in the winters. I'm old. I hate the hot and I hate the cold. I need my seat heater and air con lol. It would drive me nuts to have wonky hvac. So I'm sitting on the sidelines waiting to see if Ineos gets these these things sorted out. I still may go look at an older generation Mercedes G wagon in the meantime. Yeah, they're expensive to work on, but at least their HVAC systems work and parts and service are readily available. I really hope Ineos gets their act together soon!
Where I live it is 40 degrees plus in summer.
That is about 105 degrees in freedom units.
Aircon works no problem on manual.
CV boot no problems as I haven’t lifted the vehicle
51,000 kms on the clock.
32,000 freedom units

They all can have issues, I've had a lot of 4x4 vehicles, some I would call off road capable and others not so much. My favs being Jeeps, a couple of Toyota iterations and now a Grenadier.

The Toyota I want, can't be had here in the US (series 70) Jeeps in the true form, CJ, YJ, TJ, JK, JL (Hmm not so much) and the JT are very capable either built up from base or in their highest factory offering ( IE Rubicon) plus mods and now the Grenadier at the top level are very capable.

I had 2016 JK Rubicon that had more electrical probs and gremlins to the point I just had to send it down the road. I traded it in on a 2020 JT Gladiator Rubicon. nothing at that time available met my needsexcept the Gladiator. The JL shrank to much from the JK.

The Grenadier fit the bill for what I wanted for everyday use yet still capable and more to do and go anywhere I wanted in reason.

There a several things that make an off-road vehicle very capable and those things also detract from an everyday ride. A good off-road vehicle has #1 solid axles, #2HI/Lo transfer case that is always locked ( when shifting into 4Hi or Lo) or one with a diff lock and front and rear lockers on demand.

A solid front axle means, it's not gonna steer like IFS nor do you want it to when off road. It is what it is, just shut up and learn to drive like before the 80's, pay attention, you can't have it both ways. Off-road, solid axles is where it's at.

I still have the Gladiator, it's not going anywhere, I have a 300 acre farm/ranch, I need a pick up bed. I keep the Glad and I'm sending the F-250 diesel down the road, no longer need to tow a gooseneck plus the Glad is very capable off road. trouble free? No, the Glad has had its hick-ups, not bad enough to call it quits, truthfully, I thinks it's awesome and at half the price of a Quartermaster, the Quartermaster has it's challenge there. It's why I bought a Grenadier. I think the Quartermaster has the better drive train but not at $50K more.

Anyhow, I'm getting off track here. With all the safety, environmental, and what not govt. regs on vehicles nowadays, electronics and software glitches are a bane of every manufacturer, Ineos is young relatively speaking, give a little slack in terms of time getting things fixed. Do you want them to succeed or just become owners of an unsupported collectors item.

My toys, each has it's purpose.

I looked at the Wrangler Rubicon but you couldn't get diesel new or very nearly, as was my Grenadier, in UK any longer and only the 2.0 petrol which seemed a bit weedy for that type of vehicle. It also seemed a bit small inside. I had heard about some rust issues or weld problems (can't remember now), which made me wary, as did the 'Stallantis' umbrella for a vehicle to be long lasting. We have had many Fiat vehicles but they were as cheap low mileage vehicles and do their job, just didn't have confidence for the long term. From what I have read on this forum i do think it made the right decision, so far, but as you said, we do need to also support and not just criticise INEOS to ensure the long-term viability of the vehicles.
