Coil Springs (specs v build)

From what I was told all the OEM springs originate outside the US. When I first inquired about pricing sometime around the middle of last year, I was quoted around $150/ea for the springs. When it came time to order in February of this year, the pricing had changed drastically
Did you keep you old springs?

Indeed, usually I trash any original parts, but I brought them home as another local-ish owner wanted stock springs, but he hasn't replied to any of my emails, so they are in my garage awaiting a dump run

This is a Company that can help with any Questions with regard to lift issues.

I was quoted $1,200 for a set of black rear springs.
About 10 months ago I bought a set of red front springs for $400.

I'm going to ask a few other dealers for quotes although I think I would be happier with the 1.7/1.2 eibach springs. I just don't want to lose my driveshaft warranty.

Our local dealer is fitting the Eibach HD 40mm springs, you'd have to consult with your dealer as to the warranty situation. Supply only for the springs (front/rear) was only $650 AUD

I have been running those springs now for 10K Klms without issue, our local dealership fits them as an option. I know personally 15 owners that have them fitted also without issue

Don’t know if you replaced fronts too, but have you compared loose springs? I know LR spring were dimensionally similar so you could swap positions, opening up options.

I did new OEM front and rears... The front and rear springs are vastly different in size (and the rears are progressive)

A bit of advice needed. I’m currently getting an Alucab lifting roof conversion fitted and later in July will be getting an LRA Australia, auxiliary fuel tank fitted. Ultimately will be kitting out the inside as a basic camper. So a lot of extra weight. Bearing in mind we don’t travel lightly and my Grenadier was sitting very low on my previous travels. Mine is a petrol version ,two seater with winch and underbody protection. At the moment I have the Green marked springs front and back. As I’ll be approaching 3tonne empty and close to max GVM when loaded for travel Inc water, I’m thinking of going for the heavier duty , black marked springs. I don’t want a lift and would prefer to stick with Ineos spec springs, for ease of replacement if I have a failure in some remote region or country.
Any thoughts appreciated

I would definitely say the black springs... With the blue's and a similar amount of weight to the roof conversion in my cargo area, with a full LRA tank it was definitely a bit lower than I'd like in the rear (probably as low or a bit lower than pre-LRA tank with green springs).

I ordered a set of the 1" MetalCloak rear spring spacers, but the spring compressors at the shop that installed my springs were unable to sufficiently compress the blue springs to fit them.

An additional option is adding airbags, but then you're introducing. few additional failure points to the system

I ran firestone bags for years in an LX470. They were intended as a temp fix, but, for the three years until I put the lift in, no issues, didn't affect the offroading as much as I thought they would, and it's easy to carry a spare. If he doesnt want a lift, and uses his truck at home in lighter cofiguration, that ozzy bag lift system with in cab control would be the way to go over the HD springs, in my opinion. That's a neat add on for off grid travel.

Don't be scared of the lift, Its not that high and rides really well. I'm glad I did it.
