Hello, has anyone done a brake fluid flush himself, not at the dealer? Do you know if there is a system reset procedure if you tackle this project to avoid a long drive to the dealer? My brake pedal holds too close too the floor for my liking and I think a brake flush would help.
Thanks

Currently no way to do a reset without dealer doing it for you. However the braking system is typical except has a manual rear break aka the brake lever, so no need to home the rear brake if you are doing a pad swap your self. Anyway yes you can bleed or vacuum bleed like normal. Mine is actually really hard or I would be doing what you are asking, bc I hate sloppy brake paddles.

I’m not sure, I watched a few videos on BMW brake fluid change and they had to do a system reset (without a dealer visit) and wanted to check if that’s the case for Ineos too.

Yeah so there are actually two, the one you probably seen was when the vehicle gets to either pad sensors or mileage for the fluid needing changed. You will need to go to the dealer to get that reset with the Ineos. The other is actually homing the electronic rear brake, which we don't have so you are all good. (FYI the electronic ones for BMW can be done by hand no need for a scanner tool to reset them).

So if you are just going to bleed or swap fluid you don't have anything to worry about. Just get it done.

There shouldn’t be anything you have to reset if the pad sensor trips, it’s just an open circuit that gets closed when the wires get exposed/touch the rotor. Unless Ineos created some strange system?

It will trigger the maintenance light on the dash, whether that goes away or not will need too see but on my X3M it does and stays on until I go into the maintenance menu and clear it.

i changed the fluid last weekend. no need to do a reset, just replace the fluid with either a power bleeder or someone pumping the brake pedal.
i put in castrol SRF for mechanical properties. i also replaced my brakes for the powerbrake big brake kit.
similar feel like you on the pedal at steep angles but my vehicle was/is heavy.
