Anyone running Eibach 500# or 1000# rear springs on a loaded Grenadier?

I’m looking for some advice regarding rear spring setup on my Grenadier. I currently have a 2.5” lift in the front, but the rear sits noticeably lower.

Not sure if it’s just the lift difference or if the rear springs can’t handle the weight I’m carrying. Right now, the rear is loaded with a spare tire, a roof rack with two storage boxes, and a drawer system in the cargo area — total constant weight is probably just under 200 kg (around 440 lbs).
I’m considering switching to either the Eibach 500# or 1000# rear springs (Grenadier-specific), possibly 500# with a Metalcloak spacer if needed.
Main goal is to level out the stance — or even raise the rear a bit higher than level to account for added weight during trips or when passengers are on board, so it stays balanced under load.

Has anyone tried either the 500# or 1000# Eibach springs on their Grenadier?
Would love to hear your experience or recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

Great looking rig Heekis. I’m actually having the 500# springs installed on my grenadier right now by David at Design Build Go. We should be able to share some feedback in a week or so. I have the 1.7” Eibach lift on the front and started with the 1.2” rear to try and level the vehicle. Unfortunately, with the weight I have (similar setup to you, but a little heavier) it sat down in the back. I considered the 1000# springs, but was concerned it might be too stiff unless it’s fully loaded, so we decided to try the 500# springs along with air suspension bags from Airbag Man. If you are not familiar, they fit within the springs and can be inflated to a higher psi when the wagon is loaded to tighten the suspension and keep the rear lifted.

Here’s a pic with the standard Eibach springs. David measured it at about 3/4” low in the back, and that’s mostly unloaded. Happy to share another pic and our feedback once we get the 500# springs and air bags installed.

Following. @JordanGuss have you hit the CAT scales to get your weights?

I am at 6,700 lbs without driver but full fuel on stock suspension. 3,200# on the front and 3,500# on the rear. Probably more like 3600 now that I have added a few more gadgets to the truck :) I am Sitting 3/4" high in the rear still. Considering going to 500$ springs when I get a trailer.

I like the idea of Airbags. do you think you need both? Is it just for additional assurance when over loaded?

Also - are you changing your shocks out?

I have not put it on the scales, but it would definitely have been a more technical approach. I did quantify all the added weight I’m carrying above stock. In addition to the weight I’m carrying in the wagon, I also carry a Pakmule tray on a swing away hitch off the back. The tray is cantilevered off the back, so it is multiplying the weight. Given all this, I thought it was worth playing it safe and adding the bags while we were making the spring change. I have a feeling I’ll need them when fully loaded, but won’t know for sure until we’re done.

We are also changing the shocks to those recommended by Eibach to be used with the 500# springs. We were going to go with the Fox shocks, but switched to the Eibach Pro Truck shocks at their recommendation when we went to the HD springs.

Attached is a pic from before the lift / HD springs. You can see the Pakmule projecting off the back.

For what it’s worth, I’m a big fan of the Pakmule paired with the Rig’d Supply “RambleSwing”. Alleviates the need for towing a trailer for me, and keeps everything at an accessible height. I often have 2 dog boxes in the cargo area, so space inside is tight. Also makes a great working surface when at camp.

Thanks for this. Keep us posted on ride quality and sag. Would be interesting for you to run over the scales for $11 bucks :)

Here’s a shot of 500lb springs in back. Stock winch springs in front on 35” MTs, full fuel, fridge, gear, but missing 75lbs of extra water and fuel and 50lbs of food and clothes, power station and less 20lbs of propane & holder and traction boards, plus with 15ish lbs of hitch and mount I usually remove, but otherwise in camp mode. That’s a lot of plus and minus…sorry. But it’s an idea. I’ll try to get a better pic of fully loaded (7020 lbs all up-full fuel on state scale without people or dogs) If we camp this weekend.
