Anyone pulled apart the raised air intake?

Hi all. I have recently purchased a new to me Grenadier trialmaster. I picked it up from Shepparton in Victoria, and drove it home to Townsville. I haven't had an issue yet, apart from noticing this. I assume the snorkel was removed to fit the blinker but not reassembled correctly. Has anyone done it yet?

Hi all
I pulled it apart,only 6 screws (torx) holding it together and onto car.
One of the lugs/clips from the light through snorkel fitting has snapped off I assume during fitting of ADR required lights, so there is nothing to pull the body of snorkel around the actual air inlet in towards car body. Will need to try dealer.

Hi Pedro. Does the raised air intake look like it's sealed against water ingress if installed properly? I saw a video where someone said that the RAI does nothing for deeper water fording, only dust intake mitigation.

The raised air intake does not change the Grenadier's maximum wading depth of 800mm

I would agree that it would do nothing for deeper water fording. There is a foam seal that may slow water ingress. Certainly my one is unsuitable in current form.

In the past I have used automotive Sikaflex to seal both Safari snorkels and Airtec snorkels as out of the box they didn't seal, but they did after using copious amounts of automotive Sikaflex on the joints.
When I had to remove a section of the Safari snorkel to replace a windscreen on a Discovery 2 I found it almost impossible to get apart as you can't use acetone because the snorkels are made out of plastic, but I found methylated spirits softened the Automotive Sikaflex enough to get it apart, and methylated spirits is fine on plastic.

@Steve.B @pedrogb might pay to look at the drain hole (image ending in 428) to see if it has a "duck bill" at the end of it otherwise any sealing may be in vein

Correct. the raised air intake was ever only designed to reduce dust intake.
Ineos have been at pains ever since to emphasise that it's "not" nor was it ever intended to be, a snorkel....

Ineos Townsville have been in touch since ( I emailed these photos just before Christmas to them) the part for replacement is ordered and they will advise when it is in to fit the part. No complaints
