I have noticed a wind whistle which I initially thought was coming from outside. Then I turned the air con fan off to have a better listen and it stopped! Yes, from about position 2 on, there is remote, but annoying (wind) whistle. Anyone else had the same, and if so, any fixes?

I also have very loud fan noise when the AC is on. Also, when the fan is on high I've noticed that the life is sucked out of the engine. At low mph with the fan on high the car literally slows down and wants to stop like the brake is on and it hesitates when I give it throttle.

First time posing on a forum so I hope this goes where intended. I've had my Quartermaster a little over a month and I also have an annoying whistling sound coming from the air vent system on fan speed 2 and above. I've determined that the noise only occurs when the face vents are selected and drawing fresh air. When I select recirculated air, the whistling noise disappears. When directing the air to the windscreen only or foot vents only, there is no whistling regardless of where the air is drawn from (i.e. fresh or recirculate). This is a problem that I hope can be resolved as it will be difficult to suffer when relying on the air con in hot weather for long trips which I bought the vehicle for.

I’ve been meaning to try this after reading your post, and finally got the chance these last few days. On day#1, I cranked it to maxAC/cold/auto on the highway, secondary roads, and finally residential areas without any performance issues. On day#2, I took the same routes but used the AC in manual mode, with no negative effects.

If your issue hasn’t resolved, I’d definitely get it checked out.
