Aftermarket Diff Locks

So.... If you don't have your front and rear diff locks on (center locks on, low range, and in off-road mode) the ESC (electronic stability control ) is still on.

I think it's still on but less intrusive. RD's close-up of the left rear wheel braking near the top of the dune seems to indicate that. I just thought it was the open rear diff sending power to the free spinning right wheel but what do I know.

ESC turns OFF when lockers are on? (I need to watch this again, I guess)

That's why I linked the video. If he's correct then bypassing the system limitations as to when you can engage the diff locks will leave ESC "on" if you use a standalone locker like when still in high range for example. Some folks don't seem too worried about the consequences. I guess if you'e triple locked the system would just think you're driving straight ahead on a high traction surface and remain inactive. For driving in 4 HIGH/Center LOCKED you'd think ESC OFF would completely shut things off but the video seems to say otherwise.

I don’t see how it is possible to have any ESC working in the background if you are triple locked. Something mechanical is going to break. The computer could still restrict power but I don’t know why it would do that.

I don’t think it would do anything since it doesn’t see wheel spin. Question is if it’s disabled.
