Aftermarket Diff Locks

So.... If you don't have your front and rear diff locks on (center locks on, low range, and in off-road mode) the ESC (electronic stability control ) is still on.

I think it's still on but less intrusive. RD's close-up of the left rear wheel braking near the top of the dune seems to indicate that. I just thought it was the open rear diff sending power to the free spinning right wheel but what do I know.

ESC turns OFF when lockers are on? (I need to watch this again, I guess)

That's why I linked the video. If he's correct then bypassing the system limitations as to when you can engage the diff locks will leave ESC "on" if you use a standalone locker like when still in high range for example. Some folks don't seem too worried about the consequences. I guess if you'e triple locked the system would just think you're driving straight ahead on a high traction surface and remain inactive. For driving in 4 HIGH/Center LOCKED you'd think ESC OFF would completely shut things off but the video seems to say otherwise.
