Just cut the shroud off. It will be fine.OZ inquiry.
I was wondering if anybody has swapped their Steering stabilizer for a aftermarket one, and would like to part with it[original]?$
Out of interest I was wondering who made the original Gren one and found that mine is not in a very good way. Obviously bashed and the outer cover is rubbing the inner tube[bent]and surface rust is appearing which is the only way I could tell. I have not felt any difference to the steering but if there is one out there, I am interested
I thought that after now nearly 49000ks the original is getting worn in and the steering is better, also after the spring swap and the alignment adjustment to XHQ spec nothing was seen or showed up about the Stabilizer.
OZ inquiry.

When something like that launches from my finger tips, I just apologize and blame apples shitty spell check .“You inbred cyclops sheep molesting troglodyte,”
Followed by
“I’m sorry if you took offense at my comment - I didn’t mean it that way.”
Just laughed a protein shake out my nose. For every priceless Zimm outrage against modesty and human decency, we’re blaming Tim Cook. When something like that launches from my finger tips, I just apologize and blame apples shitty spell check .
I like the OP's version much betterUse AI next time? Way too long.
I asked AI to summarize the writing into two sentences:
The author, a satisfied Ineos Grenadier Fieldmaster owner, expresses frustration that despite the vehicle’s rugged design and heritage-inspired appeal, its lack of repair infrastructure and restrictive company policies may relegate it to being a collectible rather than a true expedition vehicle. They argue that unless Ineos enables broader repair access and better market positioning-potentially even by selling to Land Rover-the Grenadier risks becoming another niche automotive footnote, unable to fulfill the adventurous promise that attracted its buyers.
TRUTH!! I was there at beginning of Indian.... the CMC Indians, the Gilroys, the Kings Mountain, and now the Polaris owned Indians of Spirit Lake Iowa. Learning curves in all... At beginning, a forum chat group very similar to this is all that kept Indian Motorcycle alive beyond dealer sales....as the breakdowns were high numbers and the shared knowledge from factory was low if any. We shared our fixes, our cross referenced part numbers, and troubleshooting with all that would listen and kept the bikes running ourselves as they grew in popularity and reliability. I had one of each...and even helped in the design of the 2014 Chieftain (bagger).....but groups like this were the difference in me making it home (headgaskets, gas tank vacuum, stator plug, starter relay, etc)......and being stranded and waiting on a shop to fix it for me after a tow/flatbed recovery. LOLOne other thing - I can see this being like when Indian Motorcycles was reborn a few years ago. All these people who dreamed of riding an Indian went out and gobbled up the bikes only to find out they hadn't fully thought it through and realized riding a motorcycle wasn't for them. Lots of used bikes on the market, then it stabilized and Indian now keeps Harley on their toes.
I'm not sure everything else is jockeying for second. Think of the aesthetics. But The Gwagon is the “engineering masterpiece”, after all. Everything else is just jockeying for second, so why bother with all those words?
“Speed Bitching Betty” - I’ll remember that each time I hear itTRUTH!! It quickly weeded out those that loved the brand, understood the limitations, and were in for the long haul. The people that wanted it for status or to be the first in their group...quickly sold them. Fine by us as it gave some an excellent option on low mileage purchases to someone that would enjoy the adventure.
I see the same here....people jumped on it expecting an updated Land Rover Defender 110 as an alternative to the Discovery looking thing they have now.....others were looking for a cheaper alternative to the G-Wagon.....both were expecting luxury, creature comforts, and leading edge electronics and such...as they became accustomed in LR and G-Wagons...and even newer 100, 200 and now 250 and 300 Land Cruisers. This is not that vehicle as some are finding out with buyers remorse. Those of us that have longed in the US for a 70 series solid axle Cruiser and been disappointed with the hybrid motors, emphasis on comfort and style and not offroad reliability.......this is a welcomed change. I actually cancelled deposits I had for first a GX550 and then a GMC AT4X when I saw a dealer was opening here in Charleston. That was my only concern is if something came up with warranty, software update, etc....a 12 hour round trip visit or overnight for something that takes an hour...was too much. Now I have no concerns.
Really not much to go wrong...yes the infotainment is slow and if you dont let it progress through its checks and try to force it to comply will just lock up. I have learned to start, wait for Android to complete connection completely, then turn off Auto Stop, turn off Speed bitching Betty, and then proceed with everything. Little quirks that dont really bother me to be honest...made it part of routine. I have gotten the OFFROAD and LOCKERS engagement routine down and have learned to take my time and understand they engage pretty much as soon as you select...and is just the VALIDATION that is flashing the lights. Follow the sequence for offroad mode, transfer case, Low gear, rear locker first, then front locker if needed next....and repeat in reverse when no longer needed. Have had no problems or frustrations once I fully understood the process and what was happening.
This vehicle is far more robust while also being comfortable and successfully bridges the gap between offroad purpose built utility vehicle....and having enough creature comforts and manners to be acceptable for long highway trips as well. After a month of ownership and couple thousand miles of driving offroad and on a 700 mile trip this weekend.....I still dont have anything that concerns me. Some things I will update or upgrade going forward...some are just the personality of the vehicle. Given the options out there (Defender that is really a Discovery or family vehicle that has the electronics to go offroad but if you lose battery you are dead until Land Rover dealer comes..no on trail fix is allowed or possible by yourself......or the expensive G-Wagon and even new Landcruisers in US).
The only suitable option outside USA is 70 series Landcruiser in my opinion...but once you add the items included from factory for Grenadier...it is as expensive or likely a bit more expensive than the Grenadier.
For what it is, what it is intended....I think the Grenadier/Quartermaster hit it out of the park. Growing pains are not unexpected especially from a brand new from ground up manufacturer. Look at the recalls and TSB from Land Rover, Mercedes, BMW, Jeep, Ford, GMC, Dodge, Toyota, Isuzu, etc....they all have them.
Sorry for the long post.....I loved my Indians...and all that came with them. Would cuss them one day and fight over them the next to defend it. LOL Same is happening with my Grenadier..... I still think after a year of yearning for one of my own and now a month of owning one...they hit it out of the park.
