Hi all.
In short- in Australia, what protective films or other solutions have you found that work to stop the constant breakages?
I’d love a glass upgrade, but searched in vain for nil.

In long-
it’s official, Ineos have the worst glass I’ve seen, and I’ve done a lot of kilometres in a lot of cars. Combination of upright nature and poor quality IMO. Even tiny chips result in substantial cracks once the car heats up (e.g thermal expansion when parked in sun). I do repair if I find them in time… but if missed, guaranteed game over. And they chip off the tiniest impacts, it’s ridiculous. I could go on and on from several issues in less than 6months.

With the rate they crack I’d be 4-5per year/30,000km….

Love the car, hate the windscreen with a passion.

Can you order racing optics windshield defense? You can order through Amazon or direct from their website. I use them and what I like is it has layers that can be ripped off when the top layer gets scratched up. Then when you get to you last layer, you can replace it with a new one. It's 250 USD and can be installed DIY with a friend since it is pre cut for Grenadier. The only down side is it leaves a 1 inch gap from the bottom of the shield and the bottom of windshield.

The windscreen is done by Pilkington which is a large OEM supplier of glass, if you have frequent issues maybe there is a other problem causing it???

I believe that one of the PPF wrapping manufacturers (Xpel) also making a windscreen wrap.

Hi all,
My Trialmaster windscreen had a small chip and developed a large crack in a short period of time, also the original Pilkington windscreen/wiper blade combination was a poor combination with skipping and squealing in all conditions, tired many types of wiper blades such as teflon/natural rubber/graphite impregnated rubber but could not stop the blades skipping/squealing on the original windscreen.
Had my windscreen replaced under insurance at O'Brien Glass Cairns Australia where a laminated aftermarket windscreen was fitted, to date it has taken a couple of stone hits but hasn't chipped, and as an added bonus wiper blades are now behaving like wipers should with no chatter or skipping and efficient wiping.
Cracked windscreen was a good outcome for me as the graphite impregnated rubber wipers are now working perfectly, my recommendation is don't replace a cracked windscreen with the OEM Pilkington windscreen and only use graphite impregnated rubber
