According to the brochure, the width of the Grenadier is 1930 mm without the mirrors and 2146 mm including the mirrors.

My favorite car wash says it's 2 m wide. :-(

Does anyone know whether the mirrors are easily foldable/collapsible?

You don't wash your own car car washes only. scratch the paintwork the work of the devil

I'll be very surprised if they don't fold in easily. As important off road as it is parking on the street.

Car washes round here are awful, lots of grit etc trapped in them, haven't used one for years. Prob better over there otherwise you wouldn't use them either.

I should hopefully get to see one/drive one on Friday and if I remember and there's time O'll try and check them out for you emax

As we all know - the position of the mirror is electrically adjustable but I don't think the side mirror unit automatically folds back towards the front door windows when the car is locked - it needs to be manually folded back.

Yes, manual is ok and imho the only choice.

You wind the windows down, either manually as standard or electrically if you have chosen that option. Then you reach out and pull the mirrors in. 😄:ROFLMAO:

Power mirrors are only standard on the Belstaff editions

and the fold back is always manual I assume

Seen the photos. I think, they are just hold by friction with a detent. So no tools, I think.

Just called the car wash guys. A Touareg fits without problems, they say.

And including mirrors that's about the same width as the Grenadier.

What do you mean?

Does it come out with the mirrors though?
You have to hope the roof strips are fitted really flush also.

That with the alpine tie down bars, rear spare wheel and possibly rear ladder will probably warrant a note is the Owner's Handbook not to use traditional auto car washes (touchless might be OK).

Maybe next to the one that says don't drink the antifreeze.

Now I got the point. ;-)

I hope so. Don't forget, the Grenadier is "build on purpose", "rugged" and "can do the job". ☝️

So the question is: Will the car wash withstand the Grenadier mirrors?

I didn't even know you could call a car wash?? I will get mine ceramic coated and possibly pay some local kids to wash it for me while I watch from the verandah.

I always had to wash my LR Defenders and later my Jeep Wrangler JL by hand.

Local automated car wash attendants wouldn't allow me through as 'windscreen too vertical' for robotic brushes and was known to have caused damage to previous vehicles, apparently.
