Just curious. Mine is VIN 2000 or so and was registered on 2 June 2023 (I didn’t buy it until November and it had 139 miles on it). I only realised today when I was checking when its first MOT was due that it had sat at the dealer so long

When did registrations/deliveries actually begin? And who had the oldest car / lowest VIN?

I'm not the oldest but VIN *******1497 1st registered 25/04/2023 and collected from dealer on 02/05/2023.

Mine is about 650 and it’s due its first mot tomorrow morning. The mot station didn’t even know what it was when I booked it in.. I think the first 500 vins were pre production but I could be wrong.

My 1st MOT is due next month (May). When I found a local MOT station that could do our vehicles, they hadn't got a clue what it was

Nobody knows
Probably the guy with the fastest internet who ordered a base spec vehicle with no extras. And/or a dealer. Big Jim has #1 doesn't he?
I reserved/ ordered asap, but ended up in the 1500s.

I think in an earlier thread of a couple of years ago it became apparent that the last four digits didn’t relate to the number off the line.
But the cars with a three digit VIN are all very early models. Mine is registered 05/23 but has been built in 22.
As many from the first production month models had to be refined/repaired/refitted due to production issues or missing parts while standing in Hambach there has not been that much relation between the building date and the delivery date any more.
My car and many more for example got a new transfer case before leaving France.
For everyone who is new here (beginning 2024…) I recommend the „sick of waiting“ thread to get a deeper understanding for our confusion, hopes and unexplainable behaviour…
