Just putting this out there for interest amongst present owners and information for intending buyers.

If there was one thing you would not order on your Grenadier what would it be?……

I would definitely not order LOCKING WHEEL NUTS!

1. Safari windows - because they leak, sun in your eyes, wind noise
2. Extended electrical - because I don’t want all my electrical going through the truck’s multiple computers and the factory duel battery can be easily improved on.
3. Winch - GP factory has a better solution if you want to spend the money. If you are saving money then there are simple winch trays for considerably less money.
4. 18 inch wheels - why would you want less sidewall on an off road truck?
5. Side steps or rock sliders - there are better aftermarket options.

I built up from a base model, as there were many things I didn't want or need with the Trialmaster version.
Didn't want the compass
Didn't want the accessory tracks, as they only cover the doors on the QM Not the bed, where there could be some use.
Didn't want the comfort pack, other than the parking sensors - the front has played up since bull bar installed.
Would have liked the safari windows, if I were not follically challenged.
Didn't want second factory battery - cheaper better set up with LifePo4.
These are just a few

I love my Safari windows and would not want a Grenadier without them. The only two things i would not take again is the second battery and the utility rails. I would rather install a simple lipo system. The utility rails are of limited use. So i would prefer the g-wagon style trim. Which is more of a bump stop.

I wouldn’t have a Grenadier WITHOUT safari windows. Mine don’t leak and are silent. They make a big part of the character of the interior for me.

Mine is a diesel Trialmaster with:
Cloth seats
No carpet
No mats
17” steels
Privacy glass
Safari windows
Heated seats
Smooth pack (reversing camera and sensors)
Tow bar
No steps or sliders
Spare wheel box

There’s nothing on that list I wouldn’t choose again. I’d possibly go for petrol though.

I probably wouldn’t even change the colour (grey). I always specced my cars on the configurator in green with the white roof and thought I would have the steelies powder coated to match the roof but in retrospect I think it’s trying a little too hard to look like an old Defender so I don’t think I’d even do that.

One thing I would add if I could is the saddle leather. It’s really lovely.

I wouldn’t buy one without diff locks, towbar or the high load pre wired circuits - I think they add “value”.

Actually, I wouldn’t bother with the raised air intake (although it was standard on the TM). It’s not a snorkel and it’s not dusty where I live. Plus, on RHD cars, it’s in the way when you stick your head out the window to check the front wheel placement. I’d put up with that if it was a properly sealed air intake but since it’s not I’d probably do without.

I have yet to have a need for the external utility rails. I didn't specify them in my order but my early MY23 came with them at no cost to me 🤷. Apparently the alternative was not available at build time (Feb 2023).

The compass is an expensive garnish. Better than the logo only because it looks pretty.

I did the factory sidesteps because there was nothing else available and I knew it would be a year or more before the aftermarket showed any interest. MY24+ buyers are spoiled for choice for bar work, underbody protection, etc. I wouldn't do the sidesteps again because there are better choices available.

I picked Eldoret Blue with a white roof because it's not silver or grey which dominate the Australian car market (along with solid white because it's a fleet colour and cheaper). I am happy with my choice but I'd probably go Scottish White next time.

Agreed on the exterior utility rails, came as standard on the Trialmaster and in 18 months I’ve not used them once 😂

Compass and Altimeter, yep, came as standard. Would I choose it? Probably, same as above, looks nicer than the logo.

I said no to carpet, leather seats and seat heating.
I said yes to safari windows, winch, sliders, bar, saddle leather, dark glass, wheel box --- and the compass.
Car is an early '23 TM - I'm completely happy with the package ex factory!

I agree with most of your views there, though I do love my diesel and the RAI's burbles when using some right foot over rocky obstacles is music to my ears. Wouldn't be without the safari windows either, probably the second box I ticked.

Despite the differences from conventional systems, the factory high load electrical dual battery system works as advertised.

I did not and would not order,
- raised air intake
- Safari widows
- carpet & leather
- external utility rails

You can no longer purchase the second battery option, as it has been discontinued. I wouldn't go for that if it still were available.

I would likely go diesel now rather than the petrol I bought. I didn't want DPF/EGR issues but have since realised that Ineos resolved that issue (or believe to have done) with its ability to burn when parked.

I love the safari windows and they are a must for me. A number of the things I don't care for come as standard in the UK if you start with the Trialmaster or Fieldmaster. You can only spec from the basic SW, which, from memory, ended up being more expensive once the things I wanted were put on. So, I stuck with the Trialmaster and specced from there.

I would first scour the entire forum and list every single item that someone BITCHED about, and not order that specific item…

At that point I would realize that there is materially nothing to order.
Wrong,..the glove box handle escaped without mention 😅😅

Like @Mudnut I built my QM from the ground up. You don't need to worry about the dual battery as that is removed. You can still get the high load pack (that is how I have mine set up). I like my Safari Windows and I tinted them at 30 and no issues with the Sun so far. I also like in PNW. I did no utility rails because they are on the door only for QM. I did get L track for the tub. That is placed on the floor and the sides. (Purchase the L track from the dealer. ). I did no RAI, to me it looks goofy and I am not driving in middle of the desert. If I ever go that route, I will buy a sealed unit.
