What did you do with your Grenadier today?

Installed a rear ladder with Jerry can holder.
Prototype that a manufacturer is considering bringing to market. Stainless steel and powder coating.

Super nice!

So I know i'm not the only one to do this...

But makes a hell of a difference - how well it will stick I dont know :)

This is a soft grip tape from Bunnings (Australia for all you non aussies) 25mm (1") wide and around 10aud per roll. Very sticky - not too soft but not gonna rip your skin off either! Rounded ends courtesy of a 1 Aussie dollarbucks coin..

Bit of a boring subject but yesterday I put a locking cap on the QM.
My cab chassis didn't come with a locking cap so after the dealer couldn't find one, I did.
Suits BMW/Merc/Landrover 🤷‍♂️
Wow, didn't realise that the QM doesn't have a locking fuel cap.

I did this, keep an eye on it in Summer, the glue went soft on mine and came off when trodden on in the heat.

Yeah that's kinda what I'm expecting tbh... It does say for outdoors but not sure if it means Aussie outdoors in WA... It will look fine over the winter though and I have about 4m left to go at 😅

not sure if it was answered, but does this setup run the fridge off of the 12v cigarette lighter port in the back? Is there any way to run a fridge off of one of the AUX switches/INT switches?
im not sure if the better option would be to charge a power station off of one of the aux switches and then passthrough charge a fridge, or just run the fridge off the cigarette lighter while driving and switch to power station once parked. (then I guess the question is how/when would I charge the power station if fridge is using cigarette port). Is there an option im missing here
?
I have a separate switch and 12v installed that routes through mppt controller to:
Utilize solar as a primary
Allow mppt controller to regulate a shutdown if the fridge settings fail to shutdown upon low voltage
Dedicated port that can remain on all the time

If your not running a dual battery than a power station is probably your best bet. Depending on how much time you are running the vehicle each day you can charge the station and run the fridge at the same time. If you are stationary I would add a good sized solar panel to keep the a battery charged. If you are running the fridge off of the main battery I wouldnt do that at all without a good battery jump pack.

Thats what im thinking as well. I know the cigarette plug is 180watt, and the fridge draws 45watt, so theoretically I should be able to passthrough charge on the power station without draining it while car is running. Thanks for the inoput, ill consider the options and see how I go at it!

Safelite through Progressive repaired a stone chip for me a few months go. I'm guessing they'll do that but not a full replacement.
The latest on mine is, Safelite can get the windshield but had to order top moulding. Should be $0 out of pocket with Progressive but I may need to have the dealer calibrate. They will try their software to calibrate first at Safelite. They need a day in the shop at Safelite when part arrives.

Really sad that we are to the point that a new windshield needs software calibration.

Thankfully all this technology is making us so much safer I can't imagine how we coped without it, worth every penny it's costing the motorists 🤯😱🤣
I bet you feel so lucky to have a 23 model now. All this ADAS nanny state stuff.

I’ve heard conflicting advice saying that it’s needs no calibration. Someone said you can use calibration based on a Nissan.

All I know is it took 3 visits to Autoglass to calibrate my Jimny. A, it was lifted and B, it needed an original screen as it has pegs at the top corner to align and centre the windscreen. Some aftermarket windscreen don’t have pegs so they use shims. So if the installer didn’t align the windscreen properly to the camera enclosure, it will not calibrate. It’s down to the skill of the installer.

I heard someone in the Jimny forum that their E call error popped up. Probably due to non use and the battery is beyond dead. Cars are sitting around or doing shorter trips due to the fuel crisis. Dealer told him he needed a brand new E call module at a cost of £2000 🤯

So all this state of the art stuff definitely costs us motorists but the argument it saves people lives.

Reactions: CRH
I argue that lots of it doesn’t save lives. People become lazy or habituated to these nannies and it makes them unaware. Just watch how many people actually look around and use the mirrors and twist to back up. They don’t. They look at their center screen and keep going as long as it doesn’t beep at them. If you stray from your lane, the car fixes it for you. That leads us to become dependent on equipment that can fail, and causes us to fail ourselves. And everything gets so stupidly expensive. The biggest reason the Grenadier isn’t more of what we, the real consumer, actually want, is mostly because of all this garbage that’s mandated. The AC is weird - Give me some Freon and a slider that directly blends hot and cold. The car beeps when driving on back country roads- eliminate the lane wandering beep thing. No diesel in US. Annoying AdBlue everywhere else. UK gets plastic bumpers. No drivers side handle (according to local dealer for safety reasons). Aux lights need a stupid dance in the states. New Grenadiers give steering input. Etc.
All that aside - I love mine😊😊
