Definitely not necessary but sliders and front/rear skid plates would disagree after the beating they took last October. These minor changes (as well as some new Expedition One sliders that are ordered but not installed yet) new should go a long way toward fewer hangups.A little more clearance, though not necessary, truly goes a long way on some of the Moab trails! Dirt box dropped their version of the Jerry can ladder: Here $699 seems like a more reasonable price.Installed the same LeTech ladder - very satisfied with it, eventhough its rather pricey.

Brown Davis long range tank and poly air airbags install complete last week.
The verdict is the airbags help to smooth the ride out, less body roll and wobble when driving round town, have them at 5psi. And given the current fuel stupidity having an extra 65L at my disposal is certainly a bonus. Win win all around.
Although the transfer is abysmally slow.
I had the transfer pump running for 1/2 an hour on a drive yesterday and maybe transferred 1/2 the volume out of the Aux tank.

Ah cool! You’re a heli pilot too?I don't know where the BD aux tank transfers across to. The LRA transfers near the top of the main tank filler tube. If you take the fuel cap off and run the transfer pump you can see the fuel coming in.
A benefit of the LRA single-cap twin-filler is if either tank is overfilled it flows across the filler plenum and down the other tank. If I transfer fuel to the main tank and it fills up before I turn off the pump the fuel backs up the main filler neck and goes down the aux filler neck. The fuel then recirculates until the transfer pump is switched off or the aux tank is empty, whichever occurs first.
My management strategy is to turn on the transfer pump somewhere around 75% full on the main tank. The number is not critical. I use the % fuel indicator on the vehicle information page not the fuel gauge. The transfer is a positive flow rate. I can see the main tank % level rising while I am driving. I start the transfer early so there is still plenty of fuel in the main tank. This is important to give me choices later. If I leave the transfer until the main tank is low and the transfer pump fails I might be in trouble if there is no alternate fuel supply available. 60+ litres sitting in the aux tank is no help if you cannot get to it.
It's no different to carrying Jerrys. Use them first unless there is a good reason to hold them back for later.
It's a strategy I learned flying around Australia in Hueys. Get the aux tank on early and use that fuel first. If the aux pump fails at least you still have fuel in the main tanks to divert. Choices.

Ha funny I’m sitting next to one of Kestral’s UH-60’s today.Engineering. Former military so wherever the aircraft went an engineering crew would go also. For one or two aircraft the engineers fly with the aircraft. For 3+ aircraft we would typically send a road party but very much dependant on the location, proximity to supply chain, duration, non-deferable mx events, etc.
No different to what your ground team does to keep the dream alive. For single pilot tasking on 206B and Huey I would fly front seat to break up the boredom for both of us. No autopilot. Just mag brakes and force trims. Transiting broad flat Australia in a two-bladed helo at 100KIAS is nowhere near as much fun as it sounds, although 200ft coastal from Adelaide to the Gold Coast in early summer wasn't a horrible way to spend the taxpayer's money
I also spent 13 years with Bristow Helicopters. Retired now but I still have industry connections including a couple of guys at Kestral in Mangalore.
