Dropped my Grenadier in this morning with GrenX for an install of the long range Brown Davis tank, and Airbags.
Looking forward to having 1000km + Range on the truck! Will report once tested.

I'm heading off for a 1550km loop through central Queensland in a couple of weeks. That will be my first range test with the LRA diesel aux tank. I'm not towing anything this trip.

I've been swapping DMs with a Melbourne forum member who says another Melbourne owner can only get 53 litres into his BD tank on a refuel. In other words, 15 litres are trapped and unusable after transfer. That doesn't sound normal. I'd be interested to hear about your experience.

Not this time @beefs. We're coming out of Carnarvon Gorge to Rolleston then heading east to Kroombit Tops and Cania Gorge.
Hopeful that central low doesn't drift further east and cut the roads. Have you had any of the rain?

Ah very good, a nice loop. Not as much rain as north and west but enough to make the place beautifully green. No issues with roads being shut etc in our area. Enjoy the trip!

Well that sounds positively awful.
I'd ask for my money back, that's 100Km's of lost range.

This is the first I'm hearing of it. Hopefully it a one-off.

Something doesn't sound right. I don't know if BD attach the pump hose to the floor of the tank or if it's a fixed standpipe, but it does sound like the pump inlet is too high in this example. I'd be calling BD. If it's a manufacturing or installation fault they will have seen it before.

My installer got 66.25 litres into my 68 litre LRA tank during leak testing. I have emptied it down to the low light but haven't refilled it to see what my trapped fuel amount is. Tapping on the tank sides and bottom sounds very empty.
The low level is a red light in the vertical bar gauge supplied with the LRA tank. I'd prefer to have an aural warning as well. The BD system has a red light and a low level buzzer.

If you pull up Vehicle Settings > Vehicle Information > Fuel Level you can see the main tank level rising in % increments during transfer. It's a good early confidence check that the transfer pump is working. The fuel gauge also rises slowly during a transfer.

Thanks - It's much more appropriate looking than stock. Only downside is the shitty flaking end of hand brake. I'm hoping someone like @GrenadierUSA will make a nice metal replacement.

Towed one of our 80’s to George at Valley Hybrids in Stockton. Slow and steady, and still managed 12.9 Mpg’s! Very easy tow, better than I thought it was going to be . 2000 lb trailer and 4800 lb FJ80
