I took a 30km road trip to pick up an appliance. In my world, a shourt trip can turn off road.
Is the dealership in Accra up and running now ? If so having workshops enroute would be perfect for a UK to South Africa trip. There was talk of dealerships in Dakar and in Morocco also.

Particularly cruel to force you to make those purchases.

Alcon are just up the road from me, I know a couple of guys who developed those brakes.

Got this fixed.
LRA fuel tank. New experience at the end of the year. About 12,000 miles on the LRA tank, very happy with it. But, above the muffler that was added, the rubber muffler hangar failed, it had become brittle, probably due to the heat. Simple fix, it is a BMW part, and Jeffrey Corwin at JC's British & 4x4 took care of it over lunch, and added a silicone heat sleeve over the hanger to protect it in the future.

You still use coins?
Please don't say you also write cheques?
They are Euro coins, also some Euro notes in the box lid clip.

I spend several months per year in France, 2 coffees in a cafe are about €2 so yes coins are needed.

This was the first year I haven't had to pay any household bills in France by cheque. Strangely about a third of people shopping in supermarkets use cheques to pay.

Coffee in France is overrated.

Cheques are definitely Mangum PI moustache old school!

There is also a limit on how much you spend using a bank card (which you get charged €7 per month for the privilege of having), when I last looked mine was €2,000 per month. So a cheque might be needed for exceptional purchases. French banking is weird.

Finally got carpet applied and tie-downs secured to my little fridge-tray-with-no-fridge-in-the-winter slide….

Grenadier USA doesn't make any tabs or slots on the bottom of their console for the cupholder to "snap" into. The unit that I got and installed in the image above does have snaps just like the OEM console, but both are plastic. I suspect the metal console is harder to work with in terms of adding slots/tabs on the underside. The Grenadier USA cup holder just sits in the dash and is held in place by the screws that go through the console from the top - not a great solution and one of the corners in the Grenadier USA cup holder cracked when I was installing it because the plastic at that point is very, very thin. It's unfortunate because as I said in my post, I really liked the metal console and thought it was more rugged than the OEM plastic.
What cup holder did you use? Did you keep the grenadiercusa top part?

Not so much my Grenadier but the Ineos/Rhino rack accessory for my quartermaster. Was having trouble with the whistle. The vortex strips you can but fills the platform but the rails that go across the platform has a large channel underneath that these vortex strips do not fit. Asking roof rack people, not many were stretching themselves to help as they didn't supply the rack and it wasn't in their system as it is a partnership between Ineos and Rhino.

took a plung on an alternative part, meant for the top of some rails based on the dimensions. Shipped it in and it fits beautifully. Rhino-Rack R011 Aerobar Rubber (2 metres) was delivered from only place i could find it online. Shout out to Roof rack world in SA (I am north of Sydney). it comes in a continuous roll (which works great). i also used some black sikaflex to hopefully hold it there over the long term.

i took the rack off to do this and am yet to put it back on and try it but now all underside cross channels are filled.

my first forum post so hopefully i put this in the right spot and it helps someone.
