What did you do with your Grenadier today?

Did a lot of trip prep. Departing this am from Arizona and headed to Boise ID to meet up with my 2 friends in BMW GS bikes. We do this every year.

This year we will explore Eastern Idaho/West Montana and down to Yellowstone and swing it back to Hells Canyon OR. Then we split up as I head to La Pine / Crater Lake OR and drop one friend off and I head solo for Lost Coast (Usal Beach) CA and Big Sur and drive by Death Valley CA before getting home. Mostly pavement this time around. We did a lot on dirt last two years with my Gladiator.

List of things done :
Made a rear deck out of Unistrut and OSB
Attached tie off points
Made RTT mount also out of Unistrut
Added trash caddy
Made new RTT ladder hooks
Installed GMRS antenna
Change diff gear oil
Installed Bluetti Charger 1 DC to DC
Installed a Pelican rifle case on rack

I did a lot of stuff really.

Anyways, off to my trip

I've seen a few ways to maintain pressure on the engine stall button to over-ride that annoying feature. Some were CAD designed and CNC machined and anodized. While I once owned a CNC machining company, and still have a small shop in my garage, I fount this solution to be simpler and a heck of a lot faster and cheaper (under $5). Perhaps the tension will fatigue over time, and I'll just replace the 3/8" cable clamp.

Did a quick change on myMidland radio set up. Moved it from the center console to the back wall of the QM. Direct power to battery and ran cable to front. Waiting on a wall attachment to cut into the wall

I did two super minor things today. Installed the steering fluid o-ring from agile off-road. Hopefully this stops the minor leakage. Took a minute before I saw the original o-ring, its tiny. I'm not surprised it leaks. Agiles Ring is much more substantial.

I also installed the owl vans oval washer for the rear door stops. Worked super well and for the price I think everyone should do that. Far better than a round washer in my opinion.

@parb - I’m glad you said something, I didn’t realize there was a tiny o ring on place and couldn’t figure out why the one from Agile off-road wasn’t sliding all the way to allow the cap to lock in place.

Yeah I tried to install but could not get the treads to catch nor could I get the o-ring to butt up against the top flat in area. Almost by accident did I figure out that it was a tiny o-ring installed. Once it was out the agile o-ring went in easy!

My wife and I spend a few days towing a ~4,000lb U-Haul 2,000 miles from Florida to Colorado….

Grenadier towed well. Power was OK. 11.5 MPG (US) running 65-70mph. No issues whatsoever.

Seats are definitely comfortable for 12+ hour days.

Dropped it off for PPF @ 405 Motoring including Xpel windshield protection film and 20% Xpel ceramic tint to match the factory privacy glass. Don't forget 45% on the windshield too.

In <200 miles from new, PPF dude spotted a chip. They're going to custom color match touch it up. I was so anxious that I'd get a windshield ding up until my appt.

$4.5K job = peace o' mind & privacy. Always wrap up son!

I'd love to know more about that ladder and what you have strapped to it at the top? what is in that bag/box? And is that just a strap around the ladder keeping it in place? Beautiful colour btw :)
